Excellent walking beside the sea, completely without cars, flower beds with benches, flowers and many fat plants , many free beaches alternate with equipped beaches.

This mile long promenade along Bordighera's beach is such a pleasant place for leisurely walks. Enjoy an ice-cream, stop for a drink or two, have lunch, or a pleasant meal overlooking the sea, listening to the waves. Lots of casual seats to just while away the day in the sun or shade. Lined with café-restaurants, one is spoiled for choice and the prices vary so choose carefully. We recommend Sant'Ampelio restaurant and beach life. In the summer season (June to August) Il Garoccio is good for drinks and snacks. And on Thursday mornings an excellent market for finding a bargain.

The seafront has drawn visitors and locals to Bordighera for centuries. It is also the site for the local market. A good place for a stroll, sampling a few local restaurants and cafes, and a chance to participate in the passegiata. Much smaller than San Remo and Ventimiglia, Bordighera has that right sized feel, with a fair mix of retirees, visitors and locals. IT is a faded but still interesting beach town.

Avoid at all costs: Friday , Saturday and Sunday - day and night. Kukua and Marmura are 'movida' hot spots. Tecno 'music' blasting ear splitting bass decibels non stop until 2AM.. An uncontrolled rave party is what awaits, audible for hundreds of meters in every direction, condoned by the local authorities.
Alternatively? Pack earplugs. A shame.

Rocky beaches has it´s limits, not easy to enjoy the sun from a carpet, you need a beach chair, if you want to go into the sea, you stumble trying to keep balance and finally in the water it is nice, but again to go back is a mess, I hate rocky beaches!

A long pedestrian road along the sea and beaches, dotted with restaurants and cafes. Great views over the sea. You have to go underneath the railway line to get there and it is worth going there for the walk, or for a drink or meal. (The beaches, many private but some public, to which you have access from this road, are all pebbles, so bring water shoes if you want to swim.)

This is a very pleasant place for a stroll, and is particularly enjoyable at sunset where the wide view of the curving coast is delightful in the reds and golds that suffuse the west.

Quite a beautiful stretch of beach here, and the day we went the water was five shades of turquoise, teal and blue. Just gorgeous! Views all the way to Monaco! There are several areas here to enjoy; A wide promenade, a designated bike path (that starts in Camporosso), parking, a playground for kids, several restaurants, and on Thursdays a big flea market (the same market that moves to Ventimiglia on Fridays). The train station is easily accessible.

Driving from Genoa towards Monte Carlo with a group of guys, our hostel host in Genoa told us about Ventimiglia, but we got impatient and found a beach here... Parked up around 4pm and walked under the train tracks, to find a still quite busy pebbled beach. Found a quieter section near the rocky pier, dumped our stuff and in we went. Was nice enough for a couple of hours, showers available. Quick stop, but a sandy beach would've been much better.

Did get some Hazelnut and Pistachio ice cream from the main road in Bordighera which was sensational!
