We were here before, but the Santa Maria Maddalena church looks still impressive for such a small community as Bordighera Alta looks.
It's not only the church itself dominating the Piazza del Popolo, but also the bell tower, which is completely divided from the church itself.
While the church was built in the beginning of the 17th century, the older bell tower was originally the sight tower of Bordighera and was converted into a bell tower aftercompletion of the church.
The interior looks really wonderful with painted stuccos and gold bladed decorations.
A 'must see' in the upper part of town.
Admission is free, although a (small) donation will also be appreciated.

Church in the square of the old city , facade baroque with reliefs decorations , on the entrance portal there is a fresco from 1742 restored the last century. Found closed.
Wonderful the tower bell far from the church, realized using the old medieval tower for sightings , it was raised with the addition of the beautiful decorated spire

We attended a wedding here and were very impressed at the beautiful interior of the church, very decorative and an ideal location for a wedding.

While the Santa Maria Maddalena church is dominating the cosy Piazza del Popolo, it's separeted bell tower is the landmark of Bordighera Alta.
The church itself was built in the beginning of the 17th century and is really a 'must see' in the upper part of town.
The interior looks really wonderful with painted stuccos and gold bladed decorations.
Remarkable is the separated bell tower, which was built in the middle ages as a sight tower and was later converted into a bell tower,
