A great triumph arch, with lots of carved scenes that are well preserved. This is a good entrance for the historic town.

Benevento is a beautiful city with a lot of great things to see, this being one of them. Take time to walk around!

One of the best preserved Roman structured I have ever seen, the Arch of Trajan depicts the triumphs of the famous Roman Emperor who pacified Germania and brought Dacia into the Empire. It is not to be missed if you are a history buff!. In the heart of the old centre of Benevento, the arch is a great starting point from exploring this ancient and important town.

The monument is impeccably preserved and the details are amazing. You can't find anything like this in the Roman Forum. It is currently undergoing some restoration, but you are still able to see it well.

Visit only if you happen to be in vicinity. It’s attractive but not enough to travel to Benevento specially for it.

My relatives took me to Benevento for a few hours to visit this old beautiful town. We mainly walked on the main strip where there's lots of shops, caffes and then at the end of the road I saw this beautiful sculpted Arco di Traiano - magnificent to see. Glad I got to visit Benevento.

This excellently preserved Roman arc serves as the perfect entrance to Benevento’s picturesque pedestrian main streets.

Striking during the day and beautifully lit at night, while I wouldn’t call this something worth travelling to Benevento to see, if you’re there it’s definitely worth seeing (albeit it is hard to miss)

Apparently the city here was leveled in the 1700’s by an earthquake but this Roman Arch didn’t budge. And whoever built it would be amazed to see skateboarding happen around its base.

You can get much closer to this arch than those in Rome and I thought it was in better condition. The area is really nice. The restaurant and locals are FABULOUS! The is a little Irish Pub near by. Very family friendly. It is really good for all ages.

When you look at this arch it takes you right into Roman times - you can almost hear the swords clashing. It is beautifuly looked after, and the low trees that flank it provide welcome shade on hot days and a refuge from the wind and rain in the winter. Standing in front of the arch on one side you look over the hills and can imagine what it must have been like in those times, scouring the landscape for the enemy, while on the other you look towards the Corso and Benevento proper.
