This is a pretty cool arch. Well preserved and unbelievable to think that it was built so long ago and stays there today. Would it be worth a trip the Benevento to go see? Well if you're historian or Roman and Susie is definitely yes,...More

We drove an hour out our way to see this arch. I probably wouldn't recommend that the average person go so far out of their way. We did, because my husband and I have degrees in Greek and Roman Art and Archaeology and my husband's...More

The Arch of Trajan is one of the best-preserved Roman arches in Italy. It helps to have a guide to describe the images on the various panels. There is also a cross-decorated shield surmounted with a cross etched on one of the upper panels.

We happened to be walking past at night time and the Arco was lit up, with a magical light show set to classical music. Stunning! An intriguing find when we weren't expecting it!

This arch is in great shape, at the end of a pedestrian-only street featuring museums, shops, and restaurants.

The arch was built just after the first century AD and is in remarkable condition. Every surface of the arch is carved/sculpted in great detail! Beautiful!

Well preserved. Saw it on a cloudy late afternoon, perhaps not at its most powerful. At the end of a strip of shops. Not for a special trip, but go if you are there.
