About
This marvelous bridge made in wood, named Ponte Degli Alpini, is dated from 1209, although it was rebuilt some times along the centuries. It is also called Ponte Vecchio, and the view one can enjoy from it, over the Brenta river and facing the Alpes during the Winter, is simply great !

Beautiful wooden bridge over the River Brenta in the centre of town.

From it there are lovely views of the Brenta and the mountains in the distance.

Vice versa there is a great view of the bridge from the courtyard of Palazzo Sturm (as well as from many other points of course).

lovely views, pay respect to the defenders of the city (marked by a memorial plaque monument and fresh red flowers fixed next to the plaque), if lucky (as we were) you can enjoy the "Alpini" singing on the bridge; the bridge is an obvious tourist attraction, with a good reason

Covered in scaffolding and wood until at least spring 2021. Can’t see much of the bridge. Wish I had checked TripAdvisor before coming.

The bridge is characterized by its old wooden cover, that protects the passers. The old Venetian construction unites the two banks of Branta river, although during the Middle Ages there was an older bridge at the same point. It is a beautiful highlight of the town. The view to the bridge is amazing from the balcony of Palazzo Sturm in via Campo Mazzo.

Everyone rated this very highly, so we walked over, and though it looked impressive from a side view,it’s under renovation. Disappointed.

Easy to find during a stroll through the old town. Unfortunately it was closed for repairs during our visit, and crossing on foot was also not allowed - a pity!

Bridge was under repair but pedestrian traffic still allowed to walk across. Scenic views but with the (slow) construction ongoing, we had to move along.

The famous covered bridge in Bassano was rebuilds after it was destroyed in ww2 . Time has taken its toll and the bridge is being refurbished today . Workers have provided temp supports and internal structures to maintain foot travel over the Brenta river . The Brenta was the water highway that was used by the Venitians to transport merchandise and nobility to their summer homes . Take your time and enjoy a piece of Italian history .

Important bridge to connect the town and also a strategic military post. The bridge was rebuilt multiple times due to the wars. Currently one side of the bridge was covered for renovation. We were still able to peek through and took some photographs.

Despite the bridge is under renovation at least until 2021, the view of the castle and the bridge remain enchanting. It's needed a beautiful day with sun in a blue sky and the picture is superb! The village is nice and it's very pleasant to take a walk! It's is a must a visit at the Poli grappa museum
