You really get a sense from this grand Palazzo that Ascoli Piceno was once a very important centre. The Palazzo dominates the Piazza del Popolo. Ascoli Piceno reminded us a lot of Rome, but obviously on a much smaller scale.
Great place to visit in the Marche Region of Italy. Very historic and great food, specializing in "Olive Ascolani" a delicacy of the Marche Region. These stuffed olives are only available in the Marche Region.
Lot's of activity on weekends and a couple of very nice places for a snack and Aperol Apritz.
We arrived there to find a fantastic show of old Porsche's.
The next evening there was a public Zumba dancing with sound system and instructors on stage.
