The permanent exhibition of the fossil in Piano d'Arta is a small museum born from the donation of a private enthusiast of paleontology. In summer it is open from 3pm to 6pm (in winter by Reservation) and is definitely worth a visit because there are very interesting fossils from all over the world, but above all because the exhibition is organized to explain how these fossils are evidence of various geological ages. It allows a dutiful review of paleontology thanks to the wealth of detail in the descriptions and depictions that tell of the succession of climate changes that have characterized life on Earth.
After this Recommendation I highly recommend the Geological Museum of Carnia located in Ampezzo, richer in artifacts and also geological history of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Too bad that both are little publicized so they suffer from a shortage of visitors.
