About
The estate "Il Muro" has been owned by the Pancaro family for more than two centuries. Its land has always been used for producing wine grape. This is due to its particular environmental conditions that are ideal for the production of high quality wine enabling the growth of grapevines in an environmentally sustainable and eco-friendly way. Since the early 1970s, the late owner Francesco Pancaro, decided to specialize in growing grape. His engagement and work have been continued by the whole family, but mostly by his son, Federico Pancaro. Federico is engaged in updating the production techniques while keeping up the old traditions. He is aware that enthusiasm, love for nature and respect for the environment are the recipe to maintaining the high quality of the products. Because of this philosophy, only the grapes produced on the farm are used to make these high quality wines produced in the historic wine-cellar. Tastings by appointment only. To make an appointment please contact us by phone or email.

We emailed Federico the same day to arrange a visit for 7 people, the cost was 15 euro per person, and it was worth it!
The farm was beautiful, the view was amazing.. We had a hour and a half tour and tasting of wine and homemade prosciutto, it was very good and very well explained, hospitality was very nice. We highly recommend and if we go back we will visit again

Great wine and good fun informal wine tasting
Aug 2018 • Friends
We emailed Federico to organise a visit at short notice (the next day) and he was back to us straight away to organise a visit for 5 of us.

The first 20-30 of the tour contained some history about the vineyard then some information on production along with a walk around the cellars.

The second part (the tasting) comprised 7/8 wines including white, red and sweet wines. The tasting was accompanied by some meat and other produce from the farm - all of which was delicious.

Helpings were bigger than the usual tasting and the amount of wine and food was substantial for a tour group of 10-12 in total. Following the tour we were welcome to try some more wine at no extra cost and left feeling well fed and watered.

Really good fun and suspect could be even more fun if a group took the whole tour for one booking.

We did a few other wine tours which were a bit more formal and not as much fun, so this is a good contrast to some of the other wine tours where you may not get as much value for money.

Dear Peter, I am so proud to receive your comments and to realize how you appreciate the experience of having such wine tasting in my winery. What makes me feel very proud of your words it is that I can see that you really appreciate my style...drinking wine for me first all means staying together enjoying life in a beautiful and authentic Tuscany scenario. I hope to see you again soon. Ciao Federico

Love It!
Jun 2018 • Couples
My husband and I visited near the end of June. The owner, Federico, was incredible - from the first email I sent to schedule our tour all the way through to working with me to get our wine shipped to the U.S. (My bank was going to charge exorbitant fees for an international transfer, and Federico went out of his was to help me find a solution.)

The winery experience was amazing. Fattoria II Muro is everything you imagine a farm in a Tuscan dream would be. We were welcomed with open arms into a very informative tour of the winery followed by an incredible tasting experience. The wines were AMAZING, and they were paired with and abundance of delicious meats, cheese, olive oil and bread all produced on the farm (the cheese was from a neighbor). And it definitely didn't hurt that he had a cute dog who wanted to be my friend!

Federico is definitely on the right track with his wine by combining the art of traditional Tuscan wine-making while trying to meet the needs of the modern consumer. His passion for his mission clearly shows in the taste of his wines and his commitment to the farm.

The only regret I have is that we had to leave. Highly recommended!

This is an amazing treat, you have to book by emailing them. We had a fabulous tour of the winery, whilst they are making the wine. The host explained the history and how they make the wine. It couldn't have been more enthusiastic and personal, genuine passion for the wine. The wine tasting was amazing, see the pictures, we preferred the Chardonnay and the Shiraz (unusual wines for this region, but fantastically made) , the Chianti and Reserve are also excellent, so hard choice. The olive oil is super special, spice and smooth, finest we have ever tasted. Probably the best hour we have spent in Tuscany

Wine tasting August 17
Aug 2017 • Family
At short notice Fedorico agreed to host a wine tasting for 5 of us whilst on holiday in the area. What a great experience. Not just the wine (all excellent) but a table of charcuterie, cheeses, figs, melon, bruschetta and ALL home grown/produced. Well worth a visit and would recommend the Chardonnay - perfect!

Excellent vine, nice farmer, cousy spontanous wine tasting
Jul 2016 • Couples
We visited fattoria il muro in the morning of our last day in that area. Although we came in the morning and the farmer was working on the farm at that time he showed us is vine cellar and we started tasting several vines (although we did not plan to buy much, and also told him). Since the vine was so good we tasted many of them and bought two boxes and also a few of the more expensive vines. one box is still in our living room and we regret that it will be empty soon.
If i manage to get to this area again i will definitly do the full program including vine tasting!

Great place

Small lovely winery. We stopped in with no reservation and the owner, Fransisco, welcomed us warmly and gave us a great tour and tasting. He also pulled together an impromptu tasting of the salumni he makes at the farm. A+ experience if you are looking for a smaller scale, more intimate winery.

We pulled in to the unassuming side of this winery and were greeted by geese and friendly personnel who were wrapping up the day yet we were welcome to come in and taste their wonderful wines. Their wine maker led us downstairs by barrels of wine and olive oil where he proceeded to pour tastings for us. Highly recommend visiting this winery. Their wines are great!

A wonderful wine tasting experience with a personal touch. The host Frederico was fantastic and went out of his way to make our experience even more memorable. The food was fantastic and most importantly, the wine was simply superb...the best I've tasted in Italy. Make sure you have extra baggage space :)

Make sure you have a large baggage allowance
Jun 2015 • Couples
Sent them an email in the off chance we could pop in the next morning and Frederico (who might be the nicest man ever) was all to happy for us drop by and talk about his lovely wines. Our only problem was once we had tried them and he told us how reasonably priced they were I was very tempted to just fill all my baggage allowance with his wine.
