The church was built at the turn of the 16th century under the supervision of Bartolomeo Della Gatta and later, after his death, it was completed by Antonio da Sangallo the Older. It was built following the miracle of the Madonna delle Lacrime in 1490. It has three naves divided by elegant pillars and the beautiful stained glass windows are decorated by Guillaume de Marcillat.

We just happened to be passing by and found this church. As most churches in Europe are free to enter, we always go in and have a look. There was not a soul in the place so if you need to just have a break and want to see something spectacular, go in and have a look.

Another very interesting church with notable works inside. The altars and paintings are very beautiful. The wall cladding, however, is quite bare. Worth seeing anyway.
