My husband and I spent a splendid day with Sara, who took us first to Montepulciano and then to Pienza. The scenery was exquisite, and Sara and the vintners were knowledgeable and delightful. We had just the right amount of time to explore the two charming towns, and just the right amount of time to taste four or five wines at each stop. Our light lunch at stop #2: delicious! This was the second trip we booked through Very Tuscany, and it certainly won't be the last!

Had a great day with Andrea. He was informative and easy going. The wineries were beautiful, the lunch was incredible and the wine was delicious. Next time, I want to do one day of wine tasting and another day cheese tasting. Would definitely recommend.

If your looking for a really cool experience look no farther. When ever I go away I like to try to get a locals perspective/point of view about the food/history/culture. I always loved the travel shows (no reservations, parts unknown etc) where the host experiences the culture from a local or inside perspective rather then just pointing out the main touristy highlight type stuff. Very Tuscany can definitely provide you with that type of experience.
Our guide was Andrea who was extremely proud of his heritage, history and culture. On our way to our first stop he gave us a history lesson about Italy which was really interesting (were I come from we never really learned about Italy, outside of the Romans, until the Renaissance). Andrea is super laid back, easy to talk to and from our interactions, you could tell he loves what he does.
Our fist stop was at Pienza. We got an espresso and walked around the town. Andrea gave talked about the significance of Pienza and explained the architecture of the town and the churches which was really cool to see.
Our second stop was to a farm called Podere Il Casale which is a working farm that grows and makes everything on the Farm. We got a tour, hung out with some animals and had an amazing lunch (salads, cheeses, spelt pasta and wine).
Our last stop was at a winery. I forget the name, but we toured the winery and cellar and then sampled all the different types which were all great. The country side In Val D'Orcia is really just like the pictures. It was the perfect ending to the day drinking great wines, catching a little buzz and looking at the beautiful scenery.
One thing Andrea did was really cool (I'm pretty positive he did this on purpose). So we stopped at the town Montepilchino before we went to the winery. He told us to walk through the town and meet us on the other side. As we were walking, there was a parade of little school kids all dressed up as different types of food walking down the main road. The road was packed with the parents taking pictures and waving to there kids and older people hanging out their windows waving and cheering. It was such a cool scene. Turns out it was Fat Tuesday (i'm not sure what its called in Italy) and the kids were having the parade for Lent.
If you want to get away from the tourists and experience Tuscany, this is the way to do it.

My wife , sister in law and myself could not have been happier with this combination wine / historical tour of the Tuscanny region. Our tour guide Sara picked us up at our hotel in Arezzo and immediately made us feel like we found a long lost friend that just happened to know everything about this region of Italy. We selected the Montepulciano and its "Nobile" tour that brought us to two wonderful wineries ( Poliziano and Talosa ) with excellent energetic wine experts showing off their family run productions and sharing generous amounts of their wonderful wines. The Montepulciano area is the rolling vineyard hills that you can imagine if you saw Under the Tuscan sun- breathtaking. The light lunch that was included was an amazing spread of pecorino cheeses, olives, bread, sun dried tomato, and of course very tasty prosciutto, it was the perfect match with the wines we were enjoying. Sara and Andrea were wonderful guides that focus very hard on making sure we were enjoying our day. We rode in a very comfortable clean car and were amazed with Sara's historical knowledge and passion for her country. I have never written a review before but felt that I needed to let the world know that if you ever get to the Arezzo/Tuscanny region that you should not miss this tour. It truly is worth every euro and I am a pretty frugal guy.

We stayed in a villa in Arezzo, and saw Very Tuscany recommended by trip advisor. We booked two tours with them. The first was to a local cheese farm and then a winery and of course beautiful drives through the countryside. The second tour was a Chianti wine tour..Andreas was great and showed us all the local places and smaller wineries who were a lot more personable and we got to eat great lunches both days. Andreas is a local who is very personable and good communicator, and shows you all the highlights.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to take one of the Very Tuscany tours, but I wanted to write this review because of the excellent communication we received from Sara, one of the owners. She replied to our inquiry quickly, provided detailed information, and offered several suggestions in an attempt to accommodate us. I was very impressed by her customer service and attention to detail.

If you'd like a private, intimate tour of the villages and towns of Tuscany, you must reach out to Sara Sguerri at Very Tuscany tours. She's amazing! Informative, charming, warm, entertaining - and thoroughly knowledgeable about the towns of this very special section of Italy. You will enjoy every minute with her, and not want the day to end. Highly recommended for everyone--- can't want to return and meet up with her again.

We went with Very Tuscany after reading some of the reviews here on TripAdvisor.
If I try to put this in some words Personal, Relaxed, Fun would be the first words in mind. Sara and Andrea are very professional regarding everything. After going first to the town Angihari where we got to know some of the history we went to a local butcher were we met up with three generations of butcher, with passion they explained how they processed the meat, we where under the impression that we would get some meat tasting, it turned out to be a full meal with red wine and local shots, sitting in the dining area of the family we felt like one of them, Sara and Andrea never stopped translating everything that went on plus adding some good info regarding the region, meat wine, etc. Finally we went to a winery, again great personal service with great tasting of good wine. Sara and Andrea helped us out regarding what to see and where to go in the rest of our vacation. I would go with them again for sure, five stars six if I could.

For our tour, we decided on the Valtiberina Gourmet tour. We were greeted punctually by Andrea, our tour guide for the day. We drove through the beautiful countryside and arrived at the ancient city of Anghiari. We had sufficient time to explore and were even treated to an espresso and sparkling water. After, we were off to the Tuscan BBQ where we met Giovanni, the owner of the cold meat processing family run business. Here, we had a feast in his backyard after a tour of his production building. Giovanni is a great host. He speaks no English, but that is part of his charm. Another couple happened by for lunch as it was explained "people often stop by for Giovanni's hospitality". After lunch, we were off to the Podere Di Pomaio Green Winery where all wine produced is organic. It is situated in the hills above the city of Arezzo. We were given a private tour of the vineyards and the processing area, and then were given a wonderful tasting with meats, cheeses and breads with their own olive oil to accompany the tasting. We had a wonderful time on the tour and enjoyed Andrea and his knowledge of the region. He also gave us a great tip—where to find the best gelato in Arezzo. Delicious! We recommend the tour highly and had a wonderful day.

My wife and I were unsure whether we should spend the money on a private tour of Tuscany. Between the stellar reviews on TripAdvisor and my gut feeling, we decided to go for it, and are we glad we did!
Arranging the tour ahead of time via email with Sara and Andrea was very easy and pleasant. They go out of their way to answer your questions and make sure you are comfortable with the plan.
Andrea picked us up in an SUV at our Siena B&B at 9:30 and drove us (per our request) through the Tuscan hillside to Montepulciano. He's very knowledgeable and loves the area himself, so we feel we learned a lot from him. Our first stop was a terrific vineyard (Valdipiatta). Andrea accompanied us on our tour but let their head wine expert Veronica do all the talking. She took so much time with us and was so kind, we were just blown away. Then they took us to a special room for wine tasting and OMG. Their Riserva melted my brain.
Feeling very "happy," our next stop was the Fattoria della Talosa. It's built above an Etruscan tomb, and their wine expert (also named Andrea) took us down for a mesmerizing tour ... and that wasn't even the best part! The "light lunch" we expected turned out to be an extraordinary and filling feast of bread, prosciutto, cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, and again, amazing wine tasting (including Riserva and grappa).
Our final stop was the hot springs resort at Rapolano Terme. There's an indoor and outdoor pool, each fed by a thermal spring and kept at about 94 degrees Farenheit ... excellent for tired muscles but you must be ready to smell slightly of sulphur for a day or so no matter how many showers you take. It's a very nice place, and Andrea gave us 90 minutes before we were scheduled to meet him for our return ride home.
Everything about this tour delighted us. We're not used to spending a lot of money on ourselves just for a day of fun, but we called it our anniversary present to each other and it gave us memories we'll always cherish. We can't recommend it highly enough!
