It's just a beautiful walk next to the beach that takes you to the small town Laigueglia. A great chance to visit a new town, explore new beaches and find hidden pearls. It's good for jogging or for a bycicle ride

Walk, jog or bike this beautiful passageway between two lovely and different towns. At a quieter pace, slowly the hotels, commercial beaches and snack bars slip away. For a short time, you are in a no mans land just linked by a road and train line. Then, quite soon, the outline of the next community comes into focus. If you are tired or contemplative, there are benches along the way, some shaded by small trees, others in full sun. Instead of five to eight minutes by car or bus, the thirty to sixty minutes spent along the path will give you plenty of time for silence, thought or a quiet conversation.

As you appreciate a harbor more when you slowly enter by boat, the walk makes your arrival in the next town all the more exhilirating. We have been enjoying this walk for many years, and hopefully for many more.

Alassio and Laigueglia are quite different. Enjoy them both. If you are short of time or energy, you can always take the bus going or coming back. Buy a ticket at a bar or tabac as it costs more on the bus.

We Love going to Italy on holiday and this year chose Alassio because we like to walk or just wander around exploring a place and it fits this bill nicely, although if you do like to spend time sitting on the beautiful Long sandy beach (and don’t mind paying up to €20 each per day) it’s great for that too. Our favourite destination at the end of the Lungomare was Laigueglia with its colourful pastel buildings, and old squares. We enjoyed lunching here on the best pizza ever from a small takeaway bakery that everyone seemed to use. We were also fortunate to be there on market day with artisan cheeses, pesto, lavender products and the like for sale.

Ok for teenagers just being happy with a very small spot on the beach. Beach: small area but full of seats to rent. In alessio, you can not see the see because of all those small beach areas full of parasols. It is very crowdy and not fun to walk there. The nice walkingpath is between alassio and laigueguia. But avoid alassio!
Do you want to spent a day on the beach? Visit loana. You will pay less and have more space around you.

In Alassio it seems they don't like people to just stroll and enjoy the beach. Pretty much every point is blocked off by the bar or restaurant controlling their part of the beach. The beach changing rooms, (that look a little like porta potties) barricade the beach so if you are walking on the side walk all you can see if the wood panel. At the very end of the beach we were able to get on to the beach - but from a Californian stand point it was very strange. The sand and the water are beautiful - it's just a challenge to get there!

This is a walk with a great view of the headland and a chance to sit down and look at the sea. Quite a contrast to the busy town,

Take and walk or a bike along this wonderful promenade. So relaxing, peaceful and beautiful. Budget some time to visit the town of Laiguerilia at the other end. Though just a couple of miles away from Alassion, very different. Shows you the diversity of the region in unbelievable beauty of Italy

Yes it is very crowded in Alassio in summer time even with Covid19. But it's very nice to take a walk on the lungomare.

This is the typical Italian mainland beach where you have a designated one square meter of beach under an umbrella and you have to pay a substantial fee to use it. Clean, bathrooms and showers are available for that fee. Lifeguards are everywhere. The best part however is that you can walk along the beach all the way and you are never far away from ice cream, coffee and restaurants.

Ignorance can be blissful. We set off on foot on the Lungomare Angelo Ciccione not knowing what the next town was, or how far it really was from Alassio. The walk is probably about an hour but it was just a delight to stroll along the Mediterranean and encounter only an occasional person (w or w/o dog) or couple walking. When I saw the sign for Laigueglia, I was excited because as a cyclist I recognised the name from the Trofeo Laigueglia bike race each early Spring. We then proceeded to explore Laigueglia and the fabulous San Matteo Baroque church. What a pleasant surprise! Go!
