AMAZING

If I go back to Agrigento it's because I want to visit this magnificent garden again with all the 560 orange trees. And next time I want to visit the garden in March the orange trees are in bloom.

Garden of Paradise and an Angel
May 2019 • Couples
My husband and I visited the Kolybethra Garden and Valley of the Temples in May. We were in awe as we walked through the ancient temples and learned so much with the self guided tour. We ended the day at the Garden which relaxed and nourished us. It was lush and fertile with beauty sprouting everywhere. The orange trees were blossoming and their fragrance intoxicating. There were fruit trees and flowers, birds and bees, and the earth, water and rocks had a lot to share. Agrigento was the only location where we had not yet booked a room. As we were leaving the garden we met an angel named Alessandra Pezzino who had many possibilities for lodging and began making calls for us. She connected us to a wonderful B&B Locanda Degli Scrittori that was perfect in every way. Alessandra was passionate about the Garden and Valley of the Temples and was able to answer our every question. We could not thank her enough and she made our experience a real delight.

Worth a visit
Sep 2018 • Couples
These gardens are at the far end of the Valle die Tempi. They are down in the old quarry where all the stone was drugged out for the temples and town above. You go down steep slope/steps and there is an entrance fee.You can also pay extra to have a guide to take you around and also underground to the irragration system dug out by slaves. You can see evidence of wells in the city above when you are walking around which they have granted off.

Fertile valley
Sep 2018 • Family
A good symbol of a Fertile valley, at small scale what the Mesopotamian one could have been. Initially a pool, then a garden, now still a garden, the trail is nice.

Wouldn't bother!

See my very detailed visit notes to the Valley of the Temples. From my perspective, it wasn't worth visiting but others may disagree or find it interesting.

Welcome rest as part of a visit to the Valley of the Temples
Aug 2018 • Couples
These gardens are part of the extensive Valley of the Temples, and are described by some as the most exquisite gardens of Italy.
I wouldn’t go that far!
Yes, they are nicely designed, and offer a welcome bit of shade and freshness after a visit to the hot temple area. There is a nice variety of plants and trees. The setting, a small valley of a couple of acres, is special.
But we didn’t experience these gardens as that breathtaking. It’s actually not really a garden, but more a small nature reserve in a valley.
There is a small entrance fee, worth the visit should you feel that these gardens are your thing.
I’d recommended to visit the gardens at the end of your temples visit. Take into consideration that you’ll have to walk down an important series of steps.

Exciting and adventurous
Aug 2018 • Family
Our family took a tour of the quiet citrus garden in the former kolymbetra, artificial pool. The highlight of this tour is walking through an underground pathway, dug out of the local rock and used for water transport. This is a super cool thing to do with kids just as it is interesting for adults. You wear a helmet with a flashlight and have a guide on the front and back of your party. Note: It is quite narrow inside. Our guide was very kind and knowledgeable.

So unusual. Have a catered picnic
Jul 2018
Another must experience. An ancient reservoir created in the 5th century BC as part of an irrigation system made up of 75 km of of tunnels which is now a garden composed of lemon, almond, grapefruit trees and olive trees. Also, zucchini, tomato, rosemary an so much more.
NB have EasyWay Tour cater a lunch for you in the garden.

lovely but not unique

Lovely green spot in the hot sand of the Valley of the Temples, but honestly go to the seashore nearby instead for a cool seabreeze and delicious seafood.
