While in Acqui Terme, it's an easy walk to the end of town where you can see ancient aqueducts that were used for transporting the lightly sulfured hot water which is used in the town of Acqui to this day. The Aqua Bollente people come from far away to use the water.

interesting that they were built 2000 years ago and are still standing. Much of what we build today might not last as long!

If you think of how old these structures are and how very well they are built, you must feel respect. The Italian people may well be proud of such wonderful treasures of the past.....

If you are ever near here do not miss out! The town is fabulous, if in a campervan its just 8euro a night, and the waters are so healing!!!

The place looks very interesting surrounded with trees, ideal for hot summer days.
However, unfortunately it was impossible to get near the aqueduct as it was closed with orange fences and construction machinery.

An okay monument aging back to the romans. Recommended for a quick visit or a break in the shadows on a warm day, meanwhile a nice playground entertains the children.

This lark area is sited around the ruins of the ancient Roman acquadotto. To get there you have to pass over the cobbled bridge and continue to the roundabout before turning right and doubling back on yourself. There is ample parking and a short walk to a lovely playground and play area with large open meadow,
There is also a cycle path which nearly makes its way up to Melazzo before returning with lovely riverside views.
The only sadly lacking facility is any catering as the bar that was present until 2016 was washed away in floods and has not been replaced.
It has a busy family feel on warm summer days, but be advised to take your mossie spray....

Pretty interesting. It has been rebuilt somewhat with newer materials but still pretty amazing when you think about the age of this structure. Worth a look on a nice day.

It is hard to miss this Aquaduct on the banks of the river on the edge of town because it is large and very visible. It is great to see that this piece of history is being preserved.

The aqueduct is visible in a green park, just below the bridge which takes you in the Acqui Terme City Center. It is a lovely stroll especially in the springtime, and impressive to see how well it is preserved.
