Passing in front of this shop for the first time, I was struck by the layout of the outside and in the evening when I returned (the shop was still open) I asked the owner if she had an object I was looking for for a special person. The lady, Marcellina, that's the owner's name, replied that she had several and, even though it was late, she invited us to come in. The whole thing may be just a pile of stuff for some, but I was enchanted. It was late so I told Mrs Marcellina that we would return the following day and so we did. It was wonderful, not only did I find what I was looking for but we met a special person, one of those who is difficult to find nowadays. Mrs. Marcellina (She only wants to be called Marcellina) is a petite woman who you wouldn't be able to give an age to, she looks like a fairy, she is disarmingly humble, she tells you she has never done anything other than work in her shop where she grew up and then inherited it from her parents but listening to him you understand how cultured she is, she tells you "... I have never seen the world but the world comes to me" and it's true! When you leave the shop you carry with you a special feeling that touches your heart as if you had truly met a fairy. Thank you Mrs Marcellina

This shop is a crazy mix of antiques, wonderful olive oils stone pressed at their farm, wine, cheeses, jams, and pure kitsch. The tiny, cluttered store is packed to overflowing with all sorts of oddments and surprises. Locals line up for their oil. The greatest delight is the proprietor, Marcella, a welcoming woman of quiet, innocent charm and warmth. It is an experience. Go to Abbadia just to meet her. While you are in Abbadia have the filled pastas at Il Cantinone, visit the hot springs at Bagni San Felippo, and see Santa Fiora, another small gem of an untouristsy town in the Amiata area.

Marcellina's little shop is a local gem found at Via Cavour 30 (address is incorrectly listed here).

Filled to bursting with Italian memorabilia, ornaments, kitchenware and organic fare straight from her family's farm, this store is a must-see for any traveler to the Southern Tuscan region. The shop is your best bet for finding iconic souvenirs and treats for family and friends: more reasonable than the same kind of store in the neighboring towns of Pienza and Montalcino, and the quality of the goods is supreme.

Marcellina is welcoming and warm and will point you in the right direction of any goody you are looking for.

The food is what kept bringing me back to the store during my stay (and what pushed my bag's weight limit well over 50 pounds on my return Stateside). The extra-virgin olive oil is very reasonably priced (10 euro for 1 liter) and is top quality. The store has a whole wall filled with homemade jams, honeys and pasta sauces. I brought home a chocolate hazelnut breakfast spread and a parmesan truffle spaghetti sauce. On another wall, you will find a well-stocked inventory of local wines and homemade liqueurs (including a fabulous grappa!)

Her farm-made pecorino is light and the salsicce are filled with flavor- perfect for a mountainside picnic.

If you find yourself in the area, stop by Marcellina's for an authentic taste of Tuscany!

Mah! I have to say. Nice lady. But so much confusion. We seemed to be on the set of the TV show in which they show people who are serial accumulators of objects and various junk and who fill the house until they occupy all the available spaces horizontally and vertically. He seems to me to be someone who needs medical help and comfort.

Tasting of typical products and purchase of the same.
All great .. the lady who served us was very kind and explained each product.
Many things are of their own making.
We bought 3 whites, Tuscan crouton and truffle honey.
Prices more than fair.

Small shop located along the street; caught our attention due to the unique setup outside the window. We entered curious and discovered a shop with very good food products. Familiar and friendly service. Advised!
