Great morning experience with Jomal and Brian kayaking and snorkeling in Kealakekua Bay. They first briefed us with some history of the Hawaiians and Captain Cook and fitted everyone with snorkel gear before we headed down to the bay to launch the kayaks. We then paddled across the bay to the Captain Cook monument. As one of the few companies... More

My friend came to the Big Island 2 weeks before us and highly recommended the 5 hour snorkeling adventure with Aloha Kayak and Jamal as our guide. I called to see if we could last minute book a trip and was given all kinds of information. The 5 hour trip was on a Thursday, the same day we had our... More

We searched reviews for a snorkeling adventure and based on what we read we chose Aloha Kayak for our adventure. We had a better than expected (from reading great reviews) time and I'd say, by far this was the highlight of our trip! I'm seven and a half months pregnant and we were able to enjoy the kayaking and snorkeling... More

We read a recommendation in the guidebook Hawaii The Big Island Revealed and had also heard that snorkeling at night with the manta rays should not be missed. I booked online and all went smoothly until we reached the bay with our kayaks...and before the three of us went in, a guy came out of the water and said there... More

My wife and I were the only ones signed up for the tour, but didn't know until we arrived that morning. I thought the tour would be canceled, but to my surprise, there was no talk of rescheduling or excuses. I give them alot of credit for that. Jamal was an excellent guide, knowledgeable and easy to talk with. We... More

Highly recommend this company! I went with a friend and 2 other people on a night swim / kayak tour of the Manta Rays near Kona in Keahou bay. Our guide Will was pretty funny and excellent at preparing us with what to do. Just a warning...if you do take this trip they'll get very close to you but no... More

This place is awesome. Exactly what I imagined in my head for a Hawaiian surf shop. My whole family signed up for the manta ray night dive. The guide was knowledgeable and professional. My mother had her hip replaced 4 months ago and she was nervous about that, but she did fine in the kayak. The kayaking at night was... More

Have to say, Jamal and Matt did a great job on our kayak and snorkel experience at Captain Cook. They're very knowledgable and safe with the people they're leading. They open with a little "history" so people understand a little of the significance of the site. If there's a negative, while both are aware of their environment and friendly with... More

We booked a morning kayak/snorkel trip to Captain Cook through Aloha Kayak's website the night before our activity date. Luckily Jamal was at the shop thinking he had other tours that morning, but we ended up being the only people. Had he not shown up, we would have been waiting a long time! In any event, Jamal was fabulous! He... More

When conducting research for excursions we wanted to do while on the Big Island we reviewed the Moon Handbook of The Big Island. The author suggested Aloha Kayak Company. We booked the morning kayak tour to Captain Cook's monument. Prior to our departure Jamal did an excellent and historical presentation of where we were heading which put the very special/spiritual...
