We read a recommendation in the guidebook Hawaii The Big Island Revealed and had also heard that snorkeling at night with the manta rays should not be missed. I booked online and all went smoothly until we reached the bay with our kayaks...and before the three of us went in, a guy came out of the water and said there... More

My wife and I were the only ones signed up for the tour, but didn't know until we arrived that morning. I thought the tour would be canceled, but to my surprise, there was no talk of rescheduling or excuses. I give them alot of credit for that. Jamal was an excellent guide, knowledgeable and easy to talk with. We... More

Highly recommend this company! I went with a friend and 2 other people on a night swim / kayak tour of the Manta Rays near Kona in Keahou bay. Our guide Will was pretty funny and excellent at preparing us with what to do. Just a warning...if you do take this trip they'll get very close to you but no... More

This place is awesome. Exactly what I imagined in my head for a Hawaiian surf shop. My whole family signed up for the manta ray night dive. The guide was knowledgeable and professional. My mother had her hip replaced 4 months ago and she was nervous about that, but she did fine in the kayak. The kayaking at night was... More

Have to say, Jamal and Matt did a great job on our kayak and snorkel experience at Captain Cook. They're very knowledgable and safe with the people they're leading. They open with a little "history" so people understand a little of the significance of the site. If there's a negative, while both are aware of their environment and friendly with... More

We booked a morning kayak/snorkel trip to Captain Cook through Aloha Kayak's website the night before our activity date. Luckily Jamal was at the shop thinking he had other tours that morning, but we ended up being the only people. Had he not shown up, we would have been waiting a long time! In any event, Jamal was fabulous! He... More

When conducting research for excursions we wanted to do while on the Big Island we reviewed the Moon Handbook of The Big Island. The author suggested Aloha Kayak Company. We booked the morning kayak tour to Captain Cook's monument. Prior to our departure Jamal did an excellent and historical presentation of where we were heading which put the very special/spiritual... took the morning kayak trip to Captain Cook with my husband, 15 and 12 year old. Jamal and Brian were our guides. They were super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The snorkeling is unreal (it was our first time snorkeling and everything else we did afterwards paled in comparison). They supplied all the gear and were great with everyone on our... More

Loved our experience with this company and with our guide Jamal! We chose the 5 hour kayak tour through the bay to the Capitan Cook monument. Jamal was very well versed on the history of the area and of the island. Through out the tour he would explain the meaning behind certain things, the Hawaiian rituals preformed in the area... More

Trip was disorganized from beginning (two 20-something guides were out of it) and had the trip had too many people on. Our two boys did not get to see much of anything. The older one (11 y) was with guide (in his boat) who did not try to get him positioned in water to best see things (he had to... More
