I have traveled extensively in South Africa and this hidden gem is simply breathtaking. The Sundays River enters the sea here with Huge Sandunes on one side, a bushy hill on the other , the sea in front of you and the Addo Elephant Park behind you. Indescribable beauty. Undiscovered peace of heaven meaning you will most likely be alone and have it all to yourself.

This is a very beautiful area. The combination of river , sand dunes , beach and ocean make this the place for lovers of outdoors. You can relax here as the beach is not crowded.

Besides being right outside one of the entrance gates to Addo, Colchester is also situated on the banks of the Sundays River and bordered by magnificent sand dunes. We ate our lunch as we made our way down the bumpy road to see the dunes. We had limited time because we still wanted to make it to Addo this day, but it would've been fun to walk around her more.

we took a trip on one of the riverboats and enjoyed it very much. the river is beautiful but the high, steep sand dunes are out of this world. A must see

We booked a boat trip last minute. It was great they were so flexible, probably possible because the busy season hadn't completely started yet. The guide asked us what we wanted to do. And we went upstream the Sundays river, walked to the top of a dune which had a great view. It took about an hour and a half which was perfect as we're travelling with a 1 year old. she loved the birds we saw along the way so we could keep her interested.

We too a river trip with 'Sundays River Adventures' along the Sunday river to the sea. It's almost deserted, very peaceful and the sand dunes are amazing. Definitely worth a visit.
