A very warm, caring and welcoming family tour company that made me feel at ease and comfortable and accepted me as if I was part of the family. Their guide cared and guided me throughout the tour and showed and educated me on the history and culture of all the places we visited. Nasser was a very popular character and therefore his introductions gave me an insight to the warmth of the Omani people and their culture. The tour was well organised, varied and interesting with a wealth of knowledge on the history of each place on the itinerary. Tahia the owner phoned every day checking on my well being.It exceeded all my expectations,I shall certainly return to Oman and Vacation Packages Oman

We (family of 5 with teenage kids) had a great day! Our guide was very friendly and informative, both at our destination as on the way there. He told us a lot about Omani culture, buildings and economy.
The visit to the Bedouin tent was very interesting. It may be used as a tourist attraction, but it does give you an impression of what authentic Bedouin life is/was like. The desert safari was a thrill ride, and we saw some wild animals (camels). Our guide made a great effort to show us interesting parts of the desert and find us good spots for photos. Stepping out of the car to take some pictures was very hot, I would advise wearing sneakers if you don’t want to burn your feet on the hot sand!
The wadi after that (which was a longer drive than I had expected) was beautiful and a great way to cool off. All this was topped of by a cheap (4 OMR/person) and tasty Indian buffet lunch at the wadi.

This month I did a stopover in Muscat and decided to book one of the day tours with Vacation packages oman . I had read the great reviews about the company on trip advisor. I contacted Sarah and explained what I wanted to do and after a few emails back and forth she arranged for my tour .
My Driver Rashid was waiting on time at the arrival Hall of Muscat Airport . He was very professional and polite. He had a sign with My name so I could find him and he welcomed me , introduced himself and I was off on our tour in a very clean vehicle . He explained where he would start my tour which included the Nizwa , Al Hamra and Jebal Shams .He explained and showed important highlights along the way and allowed me to ask any questions. Our first stop was the beautiful old City of Nizwa which was breath taking. I had time to take pictures .We then headed to Al Hamra taking pictures along the way. Next was Jebal Shams where we had time to make trekking, had lunch ,and took pictures at the highest point of Oman . the views were breath taking and we saw some goats over there . Rashid did not leave me at any point in the tour and I did not feel that he should be faster at any point . he was very professional and efficient .After that we were on our way back to Muscat , he dropped me then at the airport once again . It was a wonderful day and I enjoyed the tour very much.

We spent only 4 days in Oman and we were wondering what can we do in such a short time. So, we write an email to Vacation Packages Oman and Majed from the agency helped us planning everything. We chose two tours Whaiba Sands and Wadi Bani Khaled & Wadi Shab and Wadi Tiwi. Our guide, Mr. Suleyman was very nice, very patient and an excellent driver. Oman is an absolutely amazing country with stunning views and unique places. People are very polite and helpful and we felt safer in Oman than in our hometown. We have to come back for sure to see the rest of the country!

The tour guides on the day were really nice and friendly. Pick up and logistics worked very well.
However, we didn’t get to do any dune bashing, just reached a dune, walked for 15mins and got back into the car. This was somewhat underwhelming, having done a 6hr round trip and expecting this to be the highlight of the trip.
Also there wasn’t much flexibility in terms of seeing the sunset, contradicting past reviews.
Having done a similar trip in the UAE, this one was overwhelmingly disappointing.

Thank you for sharing your tour experience, we truly appreciate our guests reviews weather it was describing good or bad experience, we take it very serious as we believe that we can learn from it to get better and provide our best service for our future clients.
Kindly accept our apologies for the disappointment we have caused to you, we want to explain to you the difference between UAE and Oman, regarding the tour time, as you know Oman is almost 4 or 5 times the size of Emirates, so the distance between places can take more that 1 to 2 hours to travel between attractions, we get that kind of impression regularly from our guests who had visited U.A.E before coming to Oman.
Regarding the dune bashing, as we mentioned the nature difference between Oman and U.A.E., we taking into considerations the safety of our guests as in Wahiba sands (desert) there is low network coverage and it can be difficult to ask for help in case of any emergency so we prefer to do light sand driving.
Regarding sunset watching, we recommend you to do overnight in Wahiba, because in day tour you only have limited time to return to Muscat and performing sunset watching can extend the tour time up to 4 or 5 hours.
Finally we want to take the chance to thank you once again for sharing your experience with us and our guests, we promise to do our best to avoid the same thing from happening in the future.

I will start describing below the horrible experience i had and the extreme lack of attention by the tourism agency. The tour was one month ago and till know, they didn't take any action to know how i was feeling, didnt return my calls, and didnt return part of my money.
1st day, the driver didn't know much about the road and got lost few times on the way fort to wahiba desert, after that, he decided by himself at 3pm that was late to go to Wadi Bani, we stayed in a gas station waiting for someone that never show. He was very impolite when we asked why we were there.
At 4pm, we went to the desert, he started to search our desert camp, the night came and he was very desperate, he was driving more than 100km/h, put me in danger and almost crash the car with other on the opposite side, we spent more than 4 hours at the desert looking for the camp, we asked him many times to take us to a safer place, by the end, he was very rude and told us to sleep in a hotel from his friend that was outside the city, we asked for him to stop and left the car to search for a new hotel, he followed us.
I tried to contact the travel angency by the number they gave me, asked for help, explained the situation, asked for another driver, the person told me to contact a maneger and he not picked up the phone, and the only person who i called on the first place, never picked the phone again.
2nd day, we tried to get a taxi to return to muscat but we couldn't find one, the driver was there in the morning saying that he could drive us back, in the way back he stopped in 2 wadis and didn't do the script planned for the second day, beach, white sands and so on, and haven't provided any information about anything we saw on the trip (and rarely bought water for us)
At the airport we told him that we would not pay the 50% remaining, because we didn't visit places that were planned, didn't sleep at desert campus, spent money to sleep in other hotel and he put my life in danger.
He THREATENED us, saying that we would never leave Oman, would scream and so on. So we payed the money and he left us.

First week of december (2015) we spent 5 days in Oman. We visited Muscat, Nizwa, the souk , the fortress and vilages around. We spent a night in the desert,visted bedhuins tents, visited and swam in a wadi, saw turtles at the beach and much more. We booked our 5 day tour with Vacation Packages Oman. The tour guide, Said was really nice and made our 5 days tour unforgettable. The hotels we stayed were really good too. I would recommend this company 100 %.

I went for the Muscat city half day night tour. My tour guide was Nasser and he was extremely helpful. He took me all over Muscat and showed all the main points of the city. He also explained a lot of the city's history and culture. I took the tour when I had an eight hour transit. He picked me from the airport and dropped me back. It was a very smooth and pleasant experience. Next time I will try to go for a day tour, since in the night you cannot experience everything.

This trip was so good and the guide was very friendly. The guide tell us about oman history and culture and a lot of other stories. He gave us time to see a lot of places and taking pictures and wondering around. We were very happy about this firm! 😊
