Diving with extra divers

Me and my girlfriend have booked with extra divers for one day diving and hoped it would be more ,
It was remarkable experience in our trip to oman , every thing went smooth in our booking
In the reception was so informative where we were provided very good gear ,

Once we stepped on the boat everything was already set up and ready to move .

We were so lucky to have mohamed our dive guide was so professional and helpful
He did a great job with my girlfriend to have a good buoyancy as she was recently finished her open water course ,
Also was impressive chatting with him about many other things apart from diving .

Although the bad visibility that time we had 2 amazing dives we saw plenty of things
We highly recommend extra divers and for sure we will dive with you again if we have the chance

Wonderful dive experience for all the family!

My 2 boys (aged 12 & 14) and their 2 friends (aged 11 & 13) have just completed the 'Open water' diving course with Extra divers based at the Shangrila.

They had an absolutely fantastic time! The company are extremely well organised and every care is taken in these strange times of Covid 19. The instructors are very knowledgeable and professional but they also developed great rapport with the boys - this is important because the course they did lasts for 4 days.

Diving in this part of the world is truly breathtaking and the boys were able to get up close and personal with most of the cast of 'Nemo'. They loved it and can't wait to get back in the water as qualified divers.

On the final day I did a couple of dives with the other boys' dad. Again, we were very impressed with the safety and logistical side of the operation; well maintained equipment, 2 powerful, luxurious speedboats and detailed pre-dive discussions about conditions in the water and what we might expect to see.

I highly recommend diving/snorkeling with this very friendly and professional organisation. If, like us, you live in Oman, this is not the summer we had planned. However, where better to be than in the water? And if you've got teenage kids...they'll really love it.

Highlight of our week-long stay in Muscat, better than other local dive centres

We were originally going to dive with another company in Muscat which offered a little lower price and we did on the first day in Muscat, but that turned out to be the biggest disappointment of our trip and so we quickly booked with extra divers and my oh my we were extremely happy about our choice! From the fitting to the boat to the briefing to the sites to the staff, everything was amazing. They pamper you with setting up the equipment which is nice if you get sea sick like me.

The dive sites were also spectacular. The highlight was seeing a turtle but you can definitely find cuttlefish, rockfish, eels, etc.

A massive thanks to all the staff, especially Ange, Mohammed, and Mich. Everyone at the shop was lovely and we were so sad to leave.

A non-smoking boat is a plus as well!

GREAT DIVING AT JISSAH

I dived with Extra Divers whilst staying at the Shangri-La Al Waha Hotel. Extra Divers were excellent with very friendly and helpful staff and great diving even though overcast and choppy.

Plenty was seen at the Seahorse Bay and Jissah Point Sites including Black-Tipped Reef Sharks, Turtles, plenty of Cuttlefish and Barracuda and a large Octopus.

I shall certainly return to dive again as lots of varied Sites and a stunning location.

Scuba diving fun.

Very professional but friendly throughout the booking process, sorting kit the day before the dive, then on the day of the dive.
The dive team were great, safety taken very seriously, well cared for kit, full briefing at each dive site. Plenty of dry towels and hot teas and coffees for our surface time.
I am quite a novice diver and also a solo diver and was a little nervous not being with my normal diving buddies, but was reassured and well looked after by my buddy / guide, Vincente who ensured I was safe and happy throughout the dives.
Although there was an algae bloom, which hampered visibility somewhat, I still saw lots of marine life, loads pointed out by Vincente too.
Had an awesome day! Thanks to everyone!!
Would definitely recommend booking with these guys.

Amazing Diving Learning Experience

We learnt to dive with these guys and they were amazing, nothing was too much trouble.
My wife has mobility problems and they did everything so that she was able to learn to dive also.
Between us we completed around 70 dives with these guys and we would highly recommend anyone to go.
Also the marine life off of the Oman coast is great and there's so much to see, it's almost a hidden gem.

Snorkelling and Scuba Diving Experience

Went scuba diving and snorkelling with my family. Snorkellers were guided by Mohammed who showed us 5 sea turtles, was amazing and excellent guiding. Scuba divers were guided by Michael who had an amazing experience. Thank you very much, would highly recommend!

I did 2 dives with them. Al Munassir and an other location.
Very nice dives with a very experienced (Damiano) dive guide.
He knows what's his talking about.
Professional center ! If you want to have dives in this region :strongly recommend Extra Divers !

Superb dive centre, beautiful dive sites

I enjoyed 17 fantastic dives with Extra Divers Qantab. I was really impressed by the friendly welcome and the excellent organisation, not to mention top notch equipment and comfortable boats. Barbara kept me updated with the daily plans and was always friendly and flexible with the arrangements. My first dives were guided, with Jaques and Clemence giving great briefings of what to expect, and pointing out the difficult-to-find critters. They showed me how to spot hidden things like butterfly rays and lobsters, and where to find morays and nudibranchs. I was impressed by how healthy and beautiful the coral was. On later dives, thanks to that introduction and also the excellent briefings by Damiano, Davide and Sami, it was no trouble for myself and my buddy (also an experienced diver) to navigate the dive sites unguided. I appreciated how the team catered to all levels of diver, with safety always the first priority. I did 2 trips to Daminyat Island. The sites there were definitely worth the long boat ride out. Aquarium site is aptly named, we saw turtles, morays and cuttlefish within the first 5 minutes of descending, and it was a treat to be in schools of fish so dense they blocked out the surface. I wholeheartedly recommend Extra Divers Qantab, and I'm looking forward to my next visit, hopefully in July/August so I can see the whale sharks!

Scuba diving course

My husband and I just did the Scuba diving course which requires some theory training, a training session in the lagoon and two open water dives. The staff at the dive centre were so friendly and put us at ease with a full explanation of everything required for the course. Tamsyn looked after us very well whilst we prepared for the course and at the end when we did the exam. Denis was our wonderful instructor. This man has the patience of a saint! I had a fair few panics along the way and he was so supportive and professional. I can’t thank him enough for all he did. I never dreamed I could do a course like this let alone pass it but with Denis it was possible! Barbara also spent lots of time with us one way and another and all three staff members were so lovely. I highly recommend these guys to help you with your diving 😊 They even give you recommendations for other things to do and places to visit which has been great!

The terrible dive resort whole of the world , no professional divers go there , here just for people who stay in hotel ! Unfriendly employees, bad organization, I am MSDT Padi and suggest never go there if you are professional divers They make plan as they wish not costumers I am so sorry for that resort

Excuse me Sir, but I don't really understand you comment, what's the matter of having 25 dive centers around the world , is this fact disturbing you? Do you really think that if we are unprofessional we will last long in a 5 star resort? And again if we were unprofessional you are more than welcome to try and run the dive center for 1 day in a "professional way" , so maybe you can teach us something, since you never stop learning

Hi, Having seen the reviews on Trip Advisor and a forthcoming trip to Muscat, can you please advise me on diving with your company. We are visiting Muscat on the cruise ship Vison of the Sea, docking at Muscat on Wed 01/03/2017 at 9.00 hours and leaving on Thursday 02/03/2017 at 18.00 hours. I'm interested in 2-3 dives in one day if possible. I recently passed my PADI open water and dry suit qualification and currently only have 3 hours of dive time. Hello! To participate to the regular dive trips you will need your licence yes. But Extra Divers also offer "try scuba diving" sessions for which you don't need a licence. You can also do snorkeling as some of the coral reefs are relatively shallow. Enjoy !
