We had our Tour Fatima last 23-24 Mar 2022. Tour guide Majd, an Omani local, was exceptional! We definitely recommend him as a guide.

He did not only show us the culture and beauty of Oman, he showed us what Omanis really are: humble, hospitable, hard-working, and patriots.

We visited Bimmah sinkhole, Wadi Shab, Wadi Tiwi, Ras Al Hadd turtle sanctuary, dhow factory and many more. More than that, we camped in the sur. Majd was really hands-on throughout the camp! He was also truly supportive in the wadis whenever we had difficulties in the hike and swimming. He was very knowledgeable about every place. He would explain bits of history even in the areas that you pass by in the road.

If you have a plan to take any package from Oman Day Tours, we 100% recommend Majd. No doubt you will have a fantastic Oman experience.

Overall, through a half day sightseeing of Muscat and four out of town day trips, we had an excellent overview of Oman’s scenic and historical diversity. The visits to the Grand Mosque, Wahiba Sands, Jebel Shams and the various forts, especially Nizwa and Bahla, especially stood out. There was a lot of driving, but that was our fault as we chose to return each night to Muscat. Value for money was very good. To be honest, there was one programming error that our driver, Rashid, caught and corrected: two visits to Nizwa.

Speaking of Rashid, he was what really made our experience special. Not only was he superbly knowledgeable and an excellent driver, his warm personality and willingness to go “the extra mile” (in other words, go out of his way to ensure we got the most out of each day) helped make our experience in Oman a memorable one. Don’t let him go.

Should any of our friends and acquaintances decide on a visit to Oman, we shall certainly recommend they contact Oman Day Tours.

We all wanted to let you know that our day tour was fantastic!

Our driver/guide Mohammed is a knowledgeable and charming guide and went above and beyond our expectations for the day. We were very fortunate to have an Omani as our guide and Mohammed’s knowledge and stories gave us a real insight into Omani life and culture. We enjoyed everything on the tour, our Omani breakfast and lunch were so delicious, but it was our guide that made our short trip to Oman very special…….

Our tour was advertised as a day at Wadi Shab with a picnic, visit to a beach, two couples per 4x4. We'd have an EASY 40 minute walk through a canyon and green terraced gardens bringing us to a series of streams & pools. We would be able to swim through a narrow keyhole with a magnificent cave to surface inside, containing an inspiring waterfall.
NOT! We had to look for our guide, finding him outside the gate to the port, this wasn't a big deal. But should of been a warning when the 4x4's turned into a small bus, some sitting over the wheel hub for the hour and one half drive, which was not mention in the description.
We across the "lake" (a creek) in wooden boats that were literally drugged across gravel and payment into the water (saw this). Once on the other side our tour guide said lets move down giving the next boat's passengers room to disembark the small boat........he never stopped for the second boats group to catch up! When asked about this he said "we must carry on so we aren't late"!! Second group NEVER caught up. After walking over river rocks, boulders, aqueduct, and pipes running along a narrow trail at time, for a bout 30 minutes, four of us turned back. Ten out of sixteen people in our group turned back, never making it to the oasis which turned out to be a small pond, no keyhole or waterfall. The ones that did make it said they fell on slippery rocks saw younger adults do the same.
On our return walk to the drop off point another tour guide passed said Wadi Shab, means for the young! The youngest in our group was myself, (I climbed The Great Wall, the month before) I gave up.
We luncheon at a local restaurant, which was nice. After lunch we Expressed OUR CONCERN on time, the guide said he only listens to the person booking the reservation, she didn't seem concerned. Let me say she was the only ONE!!!
We were suppose to visit a sink hole, we asked to skip it (because of time) we were told no problem...the driver missed the turn, he drove over a bare field to circle back to around! What if we'd picked up a nail?????
Tried to call tour company to get our tour cost reduced, they wouldn't answer the phone. Our tour guide, said I'm a contract worker!!
We made it back to our ship with 12 minutes to spare. Worst tour EVER!!! I've taken a lot of tours while traveling.
Heard other comments from passengers on ship, who used this company, said they drove two hours to their location, wasn't mention in tour description either.
Stay around town save yourself a lot stress!

Booked a day trip and were told to be ready to be picked up from our hotel at 8 a.m. We were ready and waiting at 07.50 and gave up at 08.40 as nobody came to meet us. No explanation was ever offered, other than 'the guide was confused'. Very disappointing.

Dear All , As Oman Day tours considered from the top and most experience travel agencies in Oman , we want to inform you that we do not have any booking or reservation regarding this person . We sent to him several time asking for anything to prove that he had booking with us ( as Confirmation reference or confirmation number) but he did not show any thing . Oman Day tours will remain always the golden choice for any service inside Oman

I booked directly with Oman Day Tours by email a private a/c car to see the capital Muscat. My expectations were high having read all the glowing reviews on this website, but I was bitterly disappointed. The company must have been short of guides on the day, because they sent a very nice chap who could hardly speak any English (and I am very experienced with non-English speakers) and he didn't know a thing about any of the sights (don't ask about "when was this built"!). The car was roomy and clean but had no signage so I just guess that he was a last minute substitute for someone who knows about Muscat and not just a local resident. The "soft drinks included" never materialised for the same reason probably, and we were left to pop to a corner shop for a drop of much needed water. On the whole, I would not trust this company and would do my homework first, reading up on the history of the place, and then take an ordinary taxi, rather than parting with USD200 for 5 hours of driving around pointlessly.

we spent over 350 dollars for 8 hours of tour. They didn't tell us that we will be 6 out of 8 hours in the car driving. so we actually paid 350 only for the gasoline, which in Oman is very cheap. We also asked for some extras, like eating WITH the beduines and of course we paid some extra money for that. At the end we didn't eat with the beduines but AT their place. They did not consider us at all. The landscape is beautiful but you better look for an other tour guide.

I took Al Sharouq and Wabar Tours, shared by 4 people, our driver and guide Mohammed Amer passed sand dunes , which are rather high with comparison to others I have seen, and then passed mountains to Wadi Bani Khalid, which was also very nice experience.
It was rather long trip, starting 8 a.m. and returning 9 p.m. but I would strongly recommend it. since Mohammed would stop where you would like.

Several weeks after returning from this trip I received a solicitation from this company asking about my experience. I responded by informing them that I had sent a letter to the person from Oman Day Tours with whom I had been in contact throughout the planning process, and I got no response. I responded to this request with detailed descriptions of the inadequacies of this trip. I NEVER received a response. They are only interested in positive feedback to market themselves, apparently little concern with actual customer satisfaction
Here is some of what I shared:

In an e-mail dated March 5th you stated: "Actually we assigned our best guide for you." What we ACTUALLY received was an inexperienced tour guide with nothing more than a light conversational knowledge of English. He was a nice fellow, but I cannot say much more than that. The vehicle that was used for our tour was not appropriate for 6 adults on a guided private tour.
The rear seat had to fold back and at each stop people had to practically crawl in and be pulled out of the vehicle with the help of their travel mates. The angle to crawl in and the amount of space was very limited. It would have worked for a child. This was made worse by the fact that the double side of the middle seat was broken and could not be folded back, we had to crawl in & out on the single seat side.
The tour guide was so inexperienced, he passed a half full water bottle around. We were surprised and refused it of course, half laughing that he extends this "hospitality" like we were his buddies passing around a coke.
When he saw our reaction, he stopped and purchased water.
The itinerary designed by them was changed on the day of arrival. A major spot we were scheduled to visit at their suggestion, Rustaq, we were told was too far...
There were many occasions when his limited English left us with totally inadequate explanations, and he frequently struggled to answer questions. We went to a Souq downtown near the ship that was just starting to open and not too many sellers were available.
We were hanging out waiting for some shops to open, this was not the best use of our time. . For a private guide, he was not flexible or knowledgeable about how to handle things. He was at a loss, working off the list he received, and did not suggest anything else or show us anything else. Throughout the day, his inexperience was quite apparent.
Other people we know (using a different tour company) were taken for lunch to the Al Nahda Resort Spa for a buffet lunch. Our lunch was at a restaurant that seemed more suitable for local workmen and backpacking kids. It was a dreary place and it took over 45 minutes for the food to be prepared. Being promised their best and most experienced guide, one wonders.....
Not well organized, unsuitable vehicle, inexperienced tour guide with much less than English fluency
PS Their prices were not for a minimal low budget experience
This was a day tour organized many months in advance for a cruise ship stop in Muscat.

We were exceptionally pleased with the tour. Abdulla was an excellent guide! He was very patient with a lot of questions and the sometimes slower pace of my 75 year old parents. He was very informative about all the sites, and over lunch he also explained marriage customs in Oman. It was wonderful. Our best compliments to your service and Abdulla in particular!
