Muscat Hills good course for the average golfer. Currently disappointing due to all the construction work. Difficult to find entrance, dangerous large construction vehicle movement with no control. Last weekend entrance blocked by pile of stone by subcontractor. At night lot of dust caused from stone crusher - by subcontractor building new fly over. Club house small and very average small pro shop no other amenities. Very friendly Staff at the club house. Food average to good

When arriving for an early tee-off (6:30AM), it was dark and no lights on. Clubhouse closed, but at bag-drop a very friendly gentleman assured us it would all be fine. 5 minutes later the clubhouse opened, very good rental set (Callaway X-Hot), time for tee-off!
Condition of the course was very good, except for one hole where maintenance was ongoing and we played on a temporary fairway. Even that was not bad at all.
Greens could have been a bit better and faster, but nothing to complain about.
Course layout is very good, with many challenging wadi's to hit over, so make sure you hit a proper shot from the box...
Pace of play was really good, we didn't wait at a single hole.
Al Mouj is a bit better maintained, but the fun-factor at Muscat Hills is higher.

Definitely a course to come back to.

This a review about the golf course, the important stuff, not the showering facilities or cheesesburgers they serve.Pleasantly surprised with the layout which takes full advantage of the wadis and ravines that criss cross the course, the 12th par 3 being especially good.Found the greens to be in great condition, same for the fairways and the stratigically placed bunkers. Played the course twice in a week and on both occasions it was very quiet, price wise it was 25 OMR or 57€ when booking through golfscape.com which I thought was very reasonable. The only negative was the sprinkler system was still running on many of the holes when we were playing and as this was between 10 and 2, it shouldn´t really have been happenning. This is a well designed user friendly golf course which should appeal to all levels and which I will definately play again next time I´m back in Muscat.

Let's get one thing straight.... I live on Muscat Hills..... and I desperately want to support my local clubhouse but honestly I no idea how they have any business at all!?
My sister and family just arrived early this morning with two small children and thus wanted a chill out day catching up. So rather than slave over a stove cooking for all 8 of us, I suggested that we relax with a drink and have dinner at the clubhouse. Sensible, sa!
No! Worst decision in my life, we all waited 1hr 20mins for a simple meal, which is disgracefully slow, only for my meal to have been forgotten about and be served another 20mins later, after everyone else had finished! 1hr 40mins for a chicken curry! Seriously! That's absolutely shocking service!
I could have driven to Ruwi (30min drive from Muscat Hills), picked up a curry and returned quicker than they took to prepare the entire meal.
How am I supposed to support my local club with this pathetic service? And this isn't the first time I've had issues here!
There are plenty of other places nearby that you can consider first before wasting your time here!
Good luck!😡

The course is ok.
Maintained well.
No facilities. Forget showering after a game in the heat of summer.
Price they charge makes it all not worth it.
Course staff try their best

Muscat Hills! I have been back in Germany for 2 weeks and I miss it already! I fell in love with Oman, but I took Muscat Hills Golf Club into my heart!

Not only are you greeted here with a smile by Jelal and Milo, the Pro from Germany, but also the caddiemaster twins and Mohammed at the bag drop off point. And even before you hit your first ball on the shady driving range, you just know your first coffee is going to be great because Maria, the friendliest waitress in the world, will serve you as you look over the driving range and the fluffy palm trees.

After checking the course rating and popping into the proshop to confirm your tee time with Yasser, it is time to practice putting. The greens are in great condition. Ask Sergio Garcia about this. I saw him play here in December. He left his signed glove in the clubhouse. I think he played a 67 here.

Since Sergio played at the club, I have seen week-to-week improvements on the prefab club house and the bunker sand on the course, not to mention the freshly planted palm trees at the entrance of the club.

Tee off - the first hole is straight forward, keep a little left on the fairway. GPS in your golfbuggy clarifies how you should play the course in metres or yards. Pay attention to the flyover comments if you are playing here for the first time - they really help! Take 12 balls with you... you will make acquaintance with what the locals call a wadi. For golfers these are huge gorges over which we have to play! As you know, golfers do not always do what they are told, so for first time players, reloading is not unusual here!

What adds to the pleasure of playing,l are the many friendly and extremely patient greenkeepers doing continual up-keep chores. The twins mentioned earlier, might possibly come around and check if your divoting bottle is full of sand and whether you have enough water! It is really hot in Oman, but you will never go thirsty at this club! (Hole 19 has specific hours to serve alcohol. Check this before you book a tee time!)

The South African Director of Golf, Ray Stopforth, brings his know-how with him from well-known golf courses in the hot southern hemisphere, for example, Fancourt. His son is the Head Greenkeeper in Muscat Hills, so you can imagine the value of family, experience and expertise for this course will bring this beautiful golf course into a bright future.

The great marketing and management team makes sure operations run smoothly! Checkout this homepage! What a beauty! Speaking of beauty - you can speak a little dutch with Janneke, Clubhouse Manager from The Netherlands. Muscat Hills Golf Club stands for service par excellence!

I played here every Tuesday for 18 weeks with my passengers. Not one person was disappointed with the course, possibly with his or her own game, but never with the grass. The views onto the Haja mountain range and then again towards the ocean on the horizon gives a good topographical idea of what the rest of Oman has to offer.

Take a holiday here! A visit to the Muttrah Souk or to the Al Bustan Palace Hotel; take a Dhowboat trip along the coast or a jeep tour to the 2. largest canyon in the world; see the amazinng geological sites on the way to the city Nizwa. The caleidescope of colours make this landscape absolutely breathtaking. The the sunsets and the friendliness of the Omani people and the expates living here will make you want to return as soon as possible.

I felt at home here! After the round you might get lucky and be able to drink a beer with a local and chat about life in Oman in a dashdasha and turban and about the infrustructural wonders that Sultan Quaboos has brought to Oman. I was lucky enough to do this! I will never forget the people I got to know on my orient cruise with TUI Cruises Mein Schiff 2!

Thank-you again to the team at Muscat Hills who always made our port stop in Muscat a day to remember for me and all my golf-playing passengers!

Grrr.. i was so angry that I could not speak! My family and me had booked a table at the club for semi finals fifa match but upon my arrival I was greeted with a confused look. No table and no accountability! How can this happen!! By the looks of it, we were not the only victims of their ‘do not care’ attitude. What was more aggravating was the attendants and the manager had no explanation but just a shrug!
Never going back there.

Really interesting golf course.... Sadly presently fully surrounded by a building site... green fees need to be much reduced whilst the intercontinental is being constructed.

I don't play golf, but the social life of Muscat Hills revolves around the Golf Club house.
Great selection of food, beers and the service is good too!
I go at least once a week for food and to meet friends.

We had a tricky time finding the place on the first place as the signs were obscure and also there were lots of road works.
When we got there the staff were a little unfriendly but we're prompt with their service.
There were LOADS of construction going on which really spoiled some of the scenery.
My husband, however, did play the best golf he has played in a long time.
