A spectacular spot with lots of pools to swim/walk through. Very popular and so can get busy and like so many Omani beauty spots it is spoilt by litter - sadly mainly left by Omanis rather than foriegn tourists.

Visited Wadi bani Khalid in November with my wife. It's a very cool place for couples, families. It's a wadi surrounded by small hill. For adventure one can venture into caves which are nearby from where lot of people start swimming and come till the...More

It’s worth the long scenic drive to get to this beautiful spot. It’s a bit more crowded as other reviewers have commented but I believe should be on your must do list. Make sure to climb a little further and see other pools. The buffet...More

If you are travelling from Sur, don't believe the Google maps distance/travel time, as Google maps indicates the distance as 42 km with travel time of 42 mins, and is half way between Sur and Al Kamil Wal Wafi on route 23. You have to...More

While the drive from the highway is long and includes a steep section, the place is pretty well-developed. There is a proper car park, paved paths, gazebos, a cafe that serves a 4-OMR buffet (which I skipped) and toilets. It's much less work than Wadi...More

Wadi bani Khalid is perennial wadi. There is always torquise green water throughout the year. Kids love it as there are small fish where the water is shallow. Sit with your leg in the water and get free fish pedicure. For swimmers there is lot...More

The natural setting is simply stunning! The fact that they have build a restaurant here and that they are currently building a hotel up the mountain overlooking the wad,i might be a bit of a spoiler to its natural beauty. We visited and had mixed...More

This wadi is a little different from the others - you can swim in the lake and enter the wadi river between the rocks from there. Very photogenic. A little too crowded since it is very close to parking.

Better you rent a car! It takes 3hours go there. Every hotel in Muscat offers different package depending the number of people. I can’t remember the price but I confirm it’s expensive.

There will be snakes and lizards around, but I didn’t see any there. That isn’t to say there are none, they were just difficult to spot. I lived in Oman for 11 years and there’s generally a good variety of snakes and other... More
