About Bateliers du Viaduc
Get on board and discover the valley of the Tarn from the river as you would have imagined ... All along the river, your guide tell you the history of the country, its traditions and curiosities, its geology, fauna and flora. The boat trip starts in Creissels, a small medieval village of character near Millau. Your boatman takes you on an 9km adventure full of surprises! A beaver hut, a gray heron flight, shivering rapids, and you are under the two highest pillars in the world for a breathtaking and exclusive view of the Millau Viaduct. At the end of the tour, you sail to the troglodyte village of Peyre drawn in the rock, to admire all the charm of this classified site. 1h30 round trip (return by minibus) - boats of 6 passengers seated maximum with 1 guide. On your return, enjoy our relaxation area at the water’s edge : the "Canoe Cafe" proposes food and drink all day, shaded tables and deck chairs, and activities for everyone (walk of the cascades, Horse-drawn carriage, swimming, slackline, stand-up paddle & canoeing).

When visiting the bridge at Millau do take this boat trip. You pass under the bridge and the guides are excellent. It takes about an hour and is so worth it.

Views of the bridge did not disappoint. I only went on this tour to see the bridge so it didn't matter than the tour guide spoke very little English. I had one of the workers at the Millau visitor center book the tour for me. I would suggest to have the worker call Bateliers and ask if there will be an English speaking group going around when you are if you want to learn more about the history during the tour.

This is a shallow draught boat trip with 6 passengers max plus the boatman. You will find them all over the world. What makes this unique is that you pass under one of the worlds greatest suspension bridges, the A75 motorway Millau Viaduct. The sight is awesome. Yes you can walk or cycle the River Tarn path and get the same incredible views but you won’t get the ride down the Tarn with a guide who can explain the building process and all the stats that go with it. Yes it is expensive - €48 for the two of us but having over the bridge floating under it gave a totally unique perspective. Well worth while. Read the reviews and look at the pictures. A special mention for the lady in the ticket kiosk in the middle of Creissels (by the main road car park) who after our boat trip helped us book our next adventure with Velorail of Larzac. Our language difficulties were considerable but with her perseverance we obtained a booking for which I’m very grateful as I suspect my telephone French would have been less than successful. Thank you.
