We had a very enjoyable 2 and a half hours. It was the hottest day of the year so far but with the aircon it made it much more pleasurable. We had a lovely meal of chicken with pasta with a cheese course and dessert and of course wine. Although my wife and I are English the rest of the boat were french. Everyone enjoyed themselves, we even had a sing song on the way back. The pilot asked us on our way back if we would like to open all the windows and let the breeze in on the way back which was very nice. We are going to try the evening cruise next time with some friends.

My wife and I traveled with Le Colombiers on the 18th July 2019. There was a family group of seven of us. Two pensioners, four thirty somethings and a two year old. We had a most pleasant cruise lasting about two and a half hours during which lunch was served. There was no choice but the cuisine would suit most tastes. The first course was pasta with chicken and mushrooms in tasty sauce. The second course was a salad with local cheese and we finished with a fruit tart. There was plenty of wine included. We passed through the Malpas Tunnel and enjoyed the rural countryside. A very relaxing afternoon. The skipper spoke excellent English. The rest of the crew were helpful and pleasant but it helped that we could speak some French. Everything was very clean and well organised. The next time we visit the Languedoc I am going to take the trip again.

A group of us (from a cruise ship docked at Sete) took the approx.1 hour a.m. Canal du Midi cruise on the Bateau Le Colombiers (boat from Colombiers). Why get off an ocean cruise ship and do a canal cruise? The description promised a tranquil cruise w/ beautiful Plane trees overhanging the canal and picturesque buildings, beautiful scenery along the way. It sounded wonderful, but the reality did not live up to the description.
The crew were very nice, it was relaxing, and there were tasty pastries, water, juice & coffee. However, we were tightly packed in around the fixed tables. If you happened to sit in the sun facing backwards, you were stuck there. If you were at the window, you had to ask three people to stand up to let you out (to use the bathroom or go stand on the small outside decks at the front & back). Most of the scenery was not what we were expecting. Since the water level was lower we spent most of the time looking at the grassy sides of the banks. Near the very end there was a short section w/ overhanging Plane trees. Apparently a lot of them have died out and young saplings are being planted in their place. The cruise ended at the locks at Fonseranes near Beziers.

We took the 2.5 hour lunch cruise on a sunday. Unfortunately a very noisy family party were also on board with younger members being very obviously bored. The food was nothing special, the commentary was difficult to hear. Probably wouldnt go again.

We're saddened to read of your experience and sorry that you didn't make your views known at the time as we are not overconfident to believe we have everything perfect every cruise.
Regarding the 'noise', children are as welcome on our cruises as are adults and in any case, might they have been excited rather than bored? We have taken the points you make, but would have welcomed hearing specific thoughts during the cruise, we might have been able to make your experience a more positive one.
