I hadn't heard of this place or its products before my short break in the area. The two ladies who greeted us were very welcoming and we enjoyed the tasting enormously, you can buy a wooden box with one of each of the three types for 34.50 euros. The exhibition is all in English and very informative, a nice way to pass an hour or so of your holidays.

Our experience here could not have been more different than the first reviewers terrible one. Lillet is easy to find and parking is free on their site. We were welcomed by a very polite and friendly young woman called Emma who gave us an excellent history of the firm, its products and its achievements under the ownership of Pernod-Ricard. We were given a tasting of all three current Lillet aperitifs - Rose, White and Red. Our preference was for the White and Red, which though slightly sweeter had more of the satisfying bitterness of quinine to prolong the aftertaste and refreshment. Buying Lillet here is slightly cheaper at €10.50 and there are some interesting souvenirs on offer as well, but not the famous Lillet carafe, which the company haven't got around to copying again in the 21st century. We would have bought two if they had! Go to Lillet for an interesting hour whilst exploring the Sauternes/Barsac/Cadillac/Loupiac area - it's worth the small effort!

Lillet apperitiff is without doubt one of the world's most exotic drinks. Rose blanc and rouge each with their own subtle balance of fruit and spice layered into a diffusion of wine and vermouth. Yes unique. Just like the visitors experience and the story of the brothers who started in Jam and refined their skills and flavours to invent this most romantic of liquids. It's not often one gets the opportunity to walk back in time and absorb so much in the first sip of a new drink.. Podensec village sits between Sauternes and Barsac the sweet wine capitals of the world. Stay at LA sauterenese and dine at the Charlotte in podensec. The gift shop is a place to stock up at approx 10euro a bottle and buy those Lillet posters and glasses that will enrich any preference dinner experience. Only 50 mins by car from St Emilion and enroute to Bordeaux...

Waited in store for 40 minutes without hardly getting acknowledged, yes the woman was giving another couple a taste test so we were patiently waiting, browsing and reading all the info in store. Once the couple left, the rude woman with long brown hair was on her computer and still didn't even make eye contact so we left the store. Then decided to turn around and go back in because we wanted to buy some wine. She obviously didn't want anything to do with us....you could tell we were a nuisance to her. She said she didn't speak English which was a lie and when we asked for a taste she gave us a tiny plastic cup to share while the previous couple got a wine glass each!!! We ended up buying the exact same amount as the previous couple- even though she was a horrible woman. Absolutely the rudest customer service we have ever experienced. We went there as 2 parents and a 25 year old daughter
