In the beginning of fall, nearby wineries in the area were either booked full of reservations or closed and we were referred to try Haut Lagrange as walk-in customers. We called and spoke to Jo on the phone, and she mentioned that they were already closed for tastings and she had deliveries to make for the evening, but could accommodate the two of us if we arrived in 15 minutes. She met us at the winery and unlocked the tasting room and provided a private tasting for us without any rush or pressure to buy, even though they were closed. Her passion for this winery was clear as she explained their vineyard, winemaking, terroir, and vintages. Their 2017 blend was our favorite, and we only wished we could bring more bottles home. Thank you Jo for going above and beyond! We are hoping to return soon. Cheers from California.

We visited this chateau with a group of 10 of us. Jo gave us an excellent explanation of the winemaking process and the appellation of the wine. We tasted the chateau’s white wine and several vintages of their reds. The wines were excellent. Jo was fantastic - as well as being very hospitable and friendly she gave us some restaurant recommendations and even called the restaurant to book our group in - very helpful for a group of non-French speakers! This was the best chateau we visited in the area.

We had the BEST experience at Chateau Haut-Lagrange. Jo was an absolutely brilliant host and went above and beyond to ensure our group had a good time. The wine is delicious - we all bought so many bottles it was a struggle to fit them in our suitcase home! I highly recommend you book a tour and tasting here whilst in Bordeaux - you won't regret it!

Many thanks to Jo, Sandrine and the team for making my birthday so special!

Visited with my wife for a tour arranged by a wine importer friend. Graciously met by Sandrine who customized the tour based on our interests and knowledge. Next door to Graves Grand Cru Chateau Haut Bailly whose first label can sell for $150 and up, this family owned and run operation was charming, with delicious classic wines — a white and a red — for much less. Out in the countryside about 30 minutes from the city of Bordeaux it was a worthwhile not touristy visit. Would recommend for oenophiles but not those looking for a gift shop and a well trodden path. Very pretty spot.

I was recently lucky to be taken to this small family winery in the Pessac-Léognan area by a friend who lives in Bordeaux. We spent a delighful morning there with Sandrine, who personally showed us around while explaining their operations and the intricacies of French wine-making while newly picked grapes were fed by hand into a crushing machine.

Needless to say the tasting of both, white & red wines was delicious & very good value for money.

A wonderful personalised and very local Bordeaux experience.
