Best Pessac-Léognan wine tasting around Bordeaux
Aug 2019 • Couples
Andre Lurton was a visionary winemaker who inherited a winery in Pessac where they were used to making sweet white wine only. Based on his knowledge of the terroir he decided the winery was much better suited for dry white and red wines. In the course of 60 years (he passed away in May 2019) Lurton acquired 7 wineries and turned them all around into quality estates.

Today, the La Louviere estate is the only one you can visit and get a tour incl wine tasting.

Very well English spoken tour was interesting, especially the cellar with the barrels of aging wine!

We decided to take the €15,- pp tour incl 4 types of wine tasting. We decided to go for 4 boxes of Rochemorin red and white, our favorite! Millesime 2015, a great year.

enchanting chateau and great visit!
Jul 2018 • Solo
Chateau La Louvière is first and foremost an amazing place to go if you are a wine enthusiast, but it is also a great place to visit just for the landscape and the scenery. The Chateau in itself is majestic, the park that surrounds it (in addition to amazing vineyards) is lovely and they are worth the trip by themselves. But of course, the guided tour is what really makes the difference: the tour guide was really knowledgeable, passionate and ready to answer all the questions. During the wine tasting, she made sure everybody was enjoying and understanding the different types of wine we were having (4 different wines were served). Highly recommended especially if you don't have the time to travel too far away from Bordeaux.

Beautiful property, fine wine, very good people
Sep 2015
Very illuminating experience - we were shown the process of wine making. We saw people putting a lot of grapes into the machine, then sort them out and the machine finishes the job - only the grapes that are to be used in the wine making were left in a giant pot. The wine guide, a young man, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The place itself is absolutely beautiful. We bought two bottles of wine - it was inexpensive but really good. The aroma was to die for. Highly recommend to everyone who comes to Bordeaux.

Wine tasting and walk through the vinyards
Sep 2014 • Friends
The people at La Louviere are always welcoming. I have taken many friends and family there for wine tasting and everyone leaves with a few bottles. There are some very nice wines in there group, easily affordable ones as well as the more expensive.
You cannot visit inside the Chateau only the grounds and cellars.

What a beautiful chateau and surroundings! Had a fantastic tour with a well informed guide. We ended up bringing home to the UK plenty of your wines! Would recommend your wines to anyone!
