With approximately 200 individuals in this group, the dolphin encounter rate with Dolphinwatch is one of the best in the world. Every trip is different in this dynamic environment! You might meet a grey seal emerging from a cave, spot a herd of wild goats on a hillside, learn about the many species of nesting seabirds, and delight in the stunning cliffs and caves of the Loop Head Peninsula and the coast of North Kerry.

We have been coming on this trip for a number of years. It is the most expensive thing we do while on holidays in Clare but it is worth every cent. Two and half hours on the waters of the Shannon estuary and Atlantic, watching...More

After reading the reviews I was determined to go on this trip despite being a nervous sailor. The movement of the boat was pretty scary at times but the reward of seeing approx. 15 dolphins made it so worthwhile. I booked by email a few...More

This though may seem expensive at first is very good value for money. We were out for 2 1/2 hours and was not disappointed with the amount of dolphins we saw. Very knowledgeable team on board too. Thanks for a great afternoon.

This is a 2 hour boat trip in the Shannon estuary. It's estimated that there are 200 bottle nose dolphins there so sightings are nearly guaranteed. We weren't disappointed and were lucky enough to see two calves as well as getting some close ups as...More

Trip was 3 hours and excellently narrated by the captain, for both dolphins and the geology of the area. We saw dozens of dolphins, including mothers and calves, and the views were stunning. This was one of the highlights of our visit to Ireland.

Well organised trip and they explain that they can't guarantee that you'll see dolphins but in general they are successful. Also, they emphasise that it's not a "show" these are wild animals and so the dolphins will not be performing tricks and they try to...More

The cruise was very nice and we saw a lot of dolphins. The crew was very nice and answered all of our questions nicely. The little ennoying thing is that they only decide the day before if they will make the cruise, depending on the...More

You are the best judge of your child as to how much they will get out of the trip. 2 hours (or more and sometimes much more) can be a long time for the parent of a toddler exploring their sea legs and for other passengers... More

The late Summer and Autumn is the best time for seeing whales in this area - Minke & Fin Whales. We do have a resident group of bottlenose dolphins, though, all year round - the largest group is Europe. There are... More
