Our group of “silver citizens” (all over 60 years) spent a wonderful week in February sailing on Global Hopper exploring some of the Abacos Islands. We were very comfortable on the boat and Captain Keath’s expert handling of his catamaran meant that we felt perfectly safe at all times. The very personable Captain Keath is a fount of knowledge on the whole area knowing the best places to visit and snorkel and he was always happy to go along with any of our wishes. We moored overnight in both secluded bays and small harbours. In addition to his skills as a captain, Keath is an amazing cook with knowledge of a great variety of cuisines, providing us with many delicious meals. Breakfast pancakes were also a feature shared with neighbouring boats. The entire experience was exhilarating, relaxing and great fun.

We actually went in August 2017 but thought I would write a review. Our scout troop had an awesome week exploring the Bahamas with Captain Keath. We had 8 scouts and four adults. Everybody had a great time sailing, fishing swimming the reefs. No need to go into port with this superbly outfitted boat. At the end our boys were doing the sailing, the cooking and running the show. Highly recommend.

My friend and I are sailors, divers, and fishermen, and were both between boats for our annual Abacos trip. Captain Keath and his big sailing catamaran Globalhopper was perfect for us.
Globalhopper comes equipped and ready for any adventure and Captain Keath knows the way. He has everything from dive tanks, equipment, and compressor to free diving slings and fishing gear for any kind of rig. Sailboards, Paddleboard, and surfboards too.
Clearly an accomplished sailor, Captain Keath lives aboard and cruises the Bahamas and knows the territory well. His charming and positive manner will have you and the boat greeted with smiles wherever you land or drop anchor.
Not only did Keath know how to catch fish, he is an expert at cleaning and cooking them. See the pictures for tuna he caught us while under sail, and the gourmet Asian fusion meal he served with them. He also keeps an active sourdough starter on board and we had fresh bread and/or sourdough pancakes every day. As a live aboard he has gourmet luxuries and surprises. Cuban sweet coffee muy bueno todo dia!
You’re going to enjoy your trip and learn something along the way. He reacquainted this old sailor with celestial navigation.
Kids are going to have a ball. Captain Keath routinely charters with Seabase scouting, and knows how to teach and entertain kids. He has a small aquarium with interesting and very active small sea life that kept us smiling, and a boat full of treasures and books to marvel at.
Globalhopper is an older boat with a live aboard feel, but in great working condition and up to date electronics and equipment (and amazingly, the best WiFi in the islands somehow). Another one of Keath’s expertises is technology.
The boat sails extremely well (goes to weather impressively) and Captain Keath gets the most from her.
Our staterooms and en-suite heads/showers were spotlessly clean, odor free, and comfortable.
A really great value and very happy experience.
