It worth visiting even when the house is closed. The gardens are superb including the secret garden and views over the river to the windmill - very picturesque. It's free to entry although there is a box at the gate to drop some money into. And it's worth it.

This place was tucked away but had lovely views, free parking, A tea room and garden, a super nature walk and 2 garden area's. I will definitely go back again if I am in Norfolk.

How Hill, is an environmental study centre for the Norfolk Broads. Lovely day in the sunshine long walks, a fabulous (secret) garden and it was free. There's picnic areas, free car parking and the views are stunning. If you have a love for wildlife then this is the place for you. …

We really enjoyed our visit to How Hill. The gardens are amazing and the nature trail very well planned out. We especially enjoyed seeing a swallowtail butterfly near the tea room and a kingfisher from a bird hide on the nature trail.

Beautiful gardens to explore, wonderful selection of Roses that smelled amazing! Lots of wildlife to see, and some creative bug habitats that are worth investigating. Great place for a picnic with a view. If you can arrive by boat then the view of the house is lovely.
