Beware of this place, I paid $103 for full day tour and only got an hour to sit in the hot springs. I went with a large group of 18, 14 people went to do horseback riding and zip-line, the other 4 people just wanted to do the mud bath and hot springs but the receptionist at the front desk told us we couldn’t go until the rest of the group gets back. Well it took them about 3 hours to get back, by this time it was lunch, after lunch it was about 3pm one hour to closing, so I only had to get a quick dip in the hot springs that’s all I got for my $103. It’s like they put this woman at the front desk to miss lead you, the mud bath is horrible it smells like paint and not mud.do not go here, find somewhere else or you will be devastated like I was, plus you will loose your money and they don’t care.😡😡😡😢😢😢😢

Family group of 8, ages 13-40, had an absolutely incredible time! We did the horseback riding (being the first time on a horse for a few of us-very easy ride even for beginners) the Zip lining which I cannot recommend enough (our group was lead by Nelson and his team A++++!) 8 zip lines in total, very well maintained with safety clearly being a major priority by the guide staff as well as the maintenance of the equipment, each one more fun than the next with breathtaking views! Then the water slide, a ton of fun (side note-you get to tell them how fast you want to go as they control the water pressure-if you request as fast as possible like we did, just be prepared for all the “souvenirs” (aka bruises) you’re likely to take back with you! Zero regrets and would do it again, just word to the wise :) then to the Hot Springs with the volcanic mud, super relaxing and also very well maintained with a swim up bar! Lastly we enjoyed the lunch/cultural experience very much, food was great and loved learning about Costa Rican culture! Would absolutely do it all again, incredible staff-every one of them! Highly recommend!

Zip-lining was so much fun. I wanted it to last longer! The horses were well-cared for, which was a concern of mine! I asked how many times a day they were ridden, I was assured only about 3x max, mostly just twice a day. They carry you up the hill and then the cowboys lead them back down. I was bummed because, due to mud, we were unable to go up the normal way. I really enjoy riding horses and didn't like being in such a cluster of riders. I understand that the mud wasn't a better option though, so no points lost for that. They get my good review because of animal welfare and friendly staff. My family had a great day. Dennis was our personal tour guide, although I think he works for Swiss Travel and not Vandara Hot Springs. He was wonderful. The staff that was with us for the zip-lining were Nelson and Leidy. Two others joined at some point, but I didn't catch their names. Everyone was full of great energy and confidence in their job. They followed all of the safety procedures, and made sure we all understood. They were very professional and personal. Our group was a nice size, not too many. They also made sure to spread us out a bit in the hot springs by taking part of the group through a cultural coffee experience. That was really nice because we had room to spread out when we wanted to swim and apply the volcanic mud. Make sure to TIP the AMAZING staff for all of their hard work.

This was my husband’s and my second time here and the first time for the other two couples that joined us this time. It was just as fun as the first time and the other two couples, really had a blast! With 8 lines to zip down, you won’t be disappointed!!! The hot springs are nice and relaxing and the food is delicious. If you’re feeling adventurous you should slide down the concrete water slide-lots of fun but a bit scary at the same time (you feel like you’re going to get launched out! Lol).
