The ticketing young lady does not deserve the job: on the 26/09 morning: no hello, no direction, no smile, did not mention access to local museum as part of the deal( so we missed it) was more interested in her phone and doing her nails.yet...More

Dramatic donjon best seen from a distance - although its interior has some fine moments, not least the stone vaults. A steep climb to the top!

Interesting on a very basic level, compared to the many other splendid castles/ ruins in this area. I wouldn't discount it, but I wouldn't make it a priority unless you are closeby or driving through. The admission fee entitles you to access to the museum...More

Quintessential Castle of childhood dreams, the Donjon at Arques is a drawing come to life. Beautiful views out to the village and a good idea of the life in medieval times

This is a truly unique building, steeped in history going back to the cathar days. Beautifully restored too. Beware on the second floor, I have been here several times with different groups, absolutely convinced it is haunted.
