The schloss is accessible to English-speakers (our German isn't up to 'technical/historical' language). The lady on the front desk had excellent English and was very helpful. Throughout there are booklets in English to provide information about the different areas of the castle. At the start there is an absolutely brilliant video introduction that shows very clearly the development of the site over the centuries. If you have children, it would be a great day out – there is a lot for them to see and do, from dressing up activities, video-enhanced games, writing with quills and gruesome torture items to explore. For adults, it is an insight into life through different eras. We were there on a Tuesday afternoon in July and had the whole place to ourselves. Such a pleasure to explore somewhere without being jostled or feel you're in a file shuffling though and having to duck out of other people's photos.…
