You can see how Parmigiano Reggiano is made. The staff are we prepared and very friendly. A special thank you for Sara. The price for the tour is cheaper than the other and include a great degustation.

My Family and I visited Azienda Agricola Moscattini while on a trip to Bologna. After a short drive from the hotel (about forty minutes) we arrived at a very nice village and just outside we found the Caseificio.
As one of the members of the Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese Consortium (http://www.parmigianoreggiano.com) the Azienda is one of the dairies that makes the famous Parmigiano Regiano cheese.
The cheese is made following the European standard and only the best products are able to bear the Parmigiano Regiano name per the Origin Denomination (D.O.)
The Azienda is perfect trip for people staying in Bologna, but you need a car to drive there as public transportation in the region may be difficult to arrange.
For the perfect visit, you need to arrive early (between 8:00 and 9:00) because as with most Dairies that is when the production takes place. After our arrival, we were greeted by the owner who personally gave us a tour of the factory and farm, she did not speak English, but patiently explained the process to my family in a way that we all understood.
After a tour of the factory, the cellars and the farm, we were taken back to the shop were we were able to sample the cheese and salami (there is a 5 euro fee for the visit and the degustation, which I thought was well worth it.)
I highly recommend the trip for families and foodies, the short drive is quite enjoyable and you can easily combine it with a visit to the multiple factories and museums in the area (including the Ferrari Museum and the Centro de Excelencia Lamborghini)

Mar 2019 • Friends
We only had a few hours to spend in Modena and wanted to take a dairy tour to see where the region’s legendary Parmigiano Reggiano is made. We wrote to a number of dairies in the area and this was the only one that responded promptly and offered us a schedule, and prices, which made sense to us. The owners were very accommodating and we continued corresponding right up until that day. We felt like such honored guests! It was easy to find (via VERY narrow roads – be careful!!) and we walked into a very busy cheese shop to begin the tour. We had to wait awhile – their products are extremely popular for residents from miles around – but eventually we had our own private tour. We were able to see whatever we wanted and stay for quite some time. Even though it was late in the day and the cheesemaking was done, our host allowed us to watch one of the men who had some late work to do. I was especially excited to go out back and see the cows (thousands!) and my friend was very moved by the young newborns resting in their little homes. Of course, the tour was not complete until we’d tasted some of the cheese and vinegars – and I just had to buy a big hunk of the 50-month old cheese to take with us.

Their website is Italian. Do you know if they have an English website although I suspect since they don't have English speaking guides why would they have an English website?
