The remains on view at Caerleon provide the visitor with a vivid picture of life in second-century Roman Britain. Some 12 miles down the Roman road you will come across Venta Silurum, the first town in Wales and the tribal capital of the Silures. We call it Caerwent today. If you get a chance, pop down to see its surrounding walls and the remains of shops, a Romano-Celtic temple and the forum-basilica.

You shouldn’t really compare these to the Roman baths in Bath - but they are still fascinating in their own way. I loved the illusion of swimmers in the baths - and the short walk to view the amphitheater and barracks are well worth the...More

An interesting place to visit. Not what I would have expected, have been to the Roman Baths in Bath. Well laid out exhibit, informative, a bit yuppyish in my own opinion. And a visiting class of school children were an obvious distraction lol, a tad...More

The Roman Baths are fascinating, signed and with images projected to make it look like there is water and bathers! The museum is very interesting, the amphitheater is wonderful for a walk around on a nice day. Highly recommended if you are interested in history.

These Roman Baths are really a must see if you're in the area. A lot of effort has been put into the displays, with special effects, amusing videos you can play in the theatre area and reproductions of helmets to try on - they are...More
