It is very frustrating when you are a traveller and places of interest are not open. I imagine that June through to September is the summer tourist season and therefore some effort should be made to ensure that sights are open to the public.

Driving there was a great experience. The castle is located where you are 'forced' :) to take a scenic drive to get there. Seriously, if the castle wasn't even there, the drive was worth it.

But hey, the castle was a delight. If you want to explore a great little castle (keep?), this is the place to go.

In July 2019 we visited the castle with 2 small children. The drive to get there through the montains is narrow but did not pose any challenges. The entry to the hotel is very well maintained. You pass a small pub that is in ‘theme’ with the castle as well. Nicely done. Entry was 6euro for adults and 3 for children. Fair price. The castle by itself was not very big but was nicely decorated and overall very clean. Kids loved it, both the armory and the main tower climb where their main attractions. We spend about 1h doing the entire visit and staying for a drink. There is a bluetooth app as well that provides you extra information ... personally didnt use it so I cannot comment.

Overall, nice experinece. Would recommend if you are in the region

A lovely drive through the mountains and villages to arrive at the Castello Di Zumelle for a tour and lunch. The view from the top was nice but decided not to do the tour to just have lunch. We felt very, very sorry for the 2 ladies who were literally running to serve the dinners, outside, inside - upstairs and downstairs while it appeared that there were men in the kitchen who were standing around, giving orders and yelling at them when they could have helped with service and the counter. In the end we only had a cold drink and left. Very disappointing as we had planned to go for lunch and ended up having an early dinner at Feltre. It turned us off doing a tour of the castle.

We're sorry of your experience but we have no idea what you are talking about because on that day (6 January) there were full of people and in the restaurant there were more than 2 women to serve. The castle is beautiful and we are sorry you decided not to visit it. Regards

The kids really enjoyed the trip. We also stayed at the castle and the stay was nice. The only thing I felt was lacking was they removed the normal library, torture chamber, etc for the event going on. I will have to return at a time all of that is back in place. The tower still had everything installed. The kids still greatly enjoyed themselves with the activities and hiking the area. You get plenty of exercise also in the area.

Cool little castle, great if you have kids. It has a nice medieval museum and wonderful views of the valley. There's pleasant little nature walk at the base of the castle as well.
