This is a wonderful respite on a beautiful campus in Palo Alto. An open air garden with full size replicas and casts made from the originals.

This is worth a visit. I particularly love the Gates of Hell by Rodin. As he is my favorite sculptor, I like to visit here when I can.

Free & Fabulous Art on Stanford Campus
Jun 2019
Stanford has the largest collection of Rodin sculptures outside of France, and I have visited them often. The sculpture garden adjacent to Cantor Center is full of important pieces, carefully arranged and accessible for anyone to visit for free! Parking in the area can be a challenge but well worth the effort to spend some time with this wonderful art. You can walk up to each statue and admire them from all angles, touch them, and marvel at the skill and artistry to create

This is a wonderful display of sculpture that is open to the public and available for walking through at any time (unless there is an event there).

Some great sculpture both in and out. And it's free!

It was wonderful to see so many Rodin sculptures. The Gates of Hell is amazing and fun that it's outside. There wasn't much of an explanation, but you can look up more info on your phone (google). The weather was amazing and the flowers were everywhere. The staff was very friendly.

Rodin: The Gates of Hell in Palo Alto!
Feb 2019 • Friends
If you come to San Francisco, CA, you must make a quick trip to see Rodin and all his glory at Stanford University. You can stroll and enjoy Rodin Sculpture Garden: Twenty bronzes, including The Gates of Hell, all accessible year-round, free of charge. If you have time, you can walk to see Auguste Rodin's Burghers of Calais. Impressive and free!
