Great place to see how good wine is made and to try some of the best wines in Alsace, the knowledge and the hospitality of the owner and the staff that work there is fantastic.

Amazing cellar tour + wine tasting
Aug 2020 • Couples
Thanks Albert for the amazing cellar tour and the wine tasting. We loved your enthousiasm and knowledge about the wines. The cellar was beautiful and we learned a lot about the wine but also about matching ingredients and dishes. Your hospitality made our day and we recommend everyone to visit your place and taste your good wine. We hope to come back some day!

Super winetasting
Jul 2020
Because of the great personality and hospitality of Albert, the owner and winemaker, it was the best winetasting experience we had.

We tasted some awesome Alsace wines like Sylvaner, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Gris. All wines with character just like the winemaker ;-).

Definitely go there if you are in the Alsace, you won’t regret it!

Best wine tasting in Alsace
Jul 2020 • Couples
Went there on wednesday, around 13 o’clock. It should be closed but I thought to give it a try. I walked inside the house and a man says ‘Bonjour’. I asked if we could try some wines and he welcomed me and my girlfriend inside. Thats how it started our adventure with Albert. We went away with 6 bottles of wine and a very very big smile. We tasted 9 different bottles of wine. Albert is an expert of ‘Sylvaner’! He must go on with what he does. He is funny! He is gentile and the most important his wine taste delicious! I would recommend it for sure. I loved this place

The most interesting wine in Alsace (and further...)!
Mar 2020
We rocked up here earlier today and astonishingly luckily managed to catch Albert himself; 14th generation winemaker (very much recommend to call and book in advance mind).

Wow, what a journey you go through here, it’s so much more than just a tasting. Albert has a wonderful turn of phrase, this not only makes you visualise the wine but helps you understand why it causes such a sensation. It’s approachable, captivating and thoroughly enjoyable. Alberts’ wines are not only incredibly interesting but are as magical as his stories- for which he pairs beautifully.

On top of this, his wines are also very reasonably priced. This is a must do in the Alsace, the best tasting experience and hands down the most interesting wines we have found here.

If you want to find the real magic amongst Alsation winemakeres, then you’d be daft to miss this place. I already look forward to my next visit.

For the intrepid oenophile

If you are in the Alsace region, Domaine Albert Seltz is a must stop along the Route des Vins d’Alsace. Located in the quaint village of Mittelbergheim, the winery is owned and operated by Albert Seltz, a fourteenth generation vigneron, who is passionate about his grapes and the soil from which they come. Albert is as interesting as the wines he makes. The result, each of his wines have a story and when paired to an Alsace prepared dish of a meal make for an exquisite experience for your taste buds. The Sylvaner Grand Cru is unbelievable when accompanied by local foie gras and will please the palate as nothing else can.
Albert is about to open a new feature to his 400 year old winery, a tasting room with a cooking facility. I will definitely be back for that experience.

The highlight of our holiday!
Dec 2019 • Couples
Albert's passion is reflected in his wine. Albert makes the wine tasting experience approachable & easy to understand. It was as much as an educational experience as it was enjoyable. Highly recommend the tasting experience & his wine is exceptional. Thank you, Albert!

Outstanding experience and exceptional wines
Dec 2019 • Friends
This is a must-visit place for everyone looking for a wine experience in Alsace.
Albert is a fascinating host and he will guide you through his varieties and their features while explaining how to pair each wine with food. He doesn’t like to advertise it, but all his wines are organic and contain very little sulphates.
I suggest you let him choose the tastings after telling him what you like, as he will be able to pinpoint those that will meet your taste and needs.
He is fluent in English and exceptionally knowledgeable: whether you’re a wine expert or just curious about trying new wines, I guarantee that by the time you leave this place you’ll have learned something new. This place alone is worth a trip to Alsace.
Remember to make a reservation (he is alone and not always available for drop ins).
