Ingenuity & smarts built this beautiful Veteran's Memorial! Beautiful every day but amazing on Memoria Dayl at 11:00 am seeing the light come right through. If you don't do well with the ceremony & crowds you can experience close to the same experience the next day. You will see many bricks on the floor of the monument honoring service of family & friends. My husband has a brick honoring his name & service. Quite wonderful seeing it whenever we decide to go to this beautiful park in Anthem.

The Anthem Veterans Memorial honors the men and women who served our nation in the United States Armed Forces. The Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and the Coast Guard are represented by five individual marble monoliths standing in formation. Each monolith has an elliptical opening that aligns with the next at a descending angle from high to low.
The memorial also serves as a SUN CALENDAR that automatically denotes Veterans Day annually. At precisely 11:11 a.m., on November 11th, the sun is in perfect alignment with the five monoliths and casts a long shadow over the memorial bricks. At the exact same moment, the five aligned elliptical openings allow the sun to precisely illuminate the Great Seal of the United States.
I congratulate the community of Anthem for creating a very unique (and solar powered) tribute to the men and women who have generously served and protected our nation.
The Anthem Veterans Memorial is located in the very scenic Anthem Community Park, and is about 1 mile east of I-17 at 41703 N. Gavilan Peak Parkway, Anthem, AZ 85086

A beautiful monument of respect to the men and women who served our country in a setting of one of the most beautiful parks here in the Phoenix area.

Family member is a Vet. This wasn't done very well. Take a look for yourself. It looks cool from afar. But, when you get closer it's very disappointing.

Four pilars aligned so that at exact moment of the first attack on the WTC every 9/11, the sun perfectly lights the emblem of the USA. An amazing design, honoring the four military services. A must see if you are in the area.

We stopped here on our way from Sedona to Casa Grande. I had read about it, but wasn't sure what to expect. It is located in a beautiful park, and is so well done and very inspiring. I'm sure to be present on 11/11 at 11:11 and see the light shining through the circles in each of the pillars on to the U.S. symbol of the eagle on the ground, would also be amazing.

My community has a lovely monument to honor our heroes. As an adult child of both parents that served in the Navy (WWII) , itt brings a smile each and every time I pass by.

Simple architectural feat showing respect for our military. Concept seems like it would not be interesting but it is as you watch the sun do it’s work.

If you are in Anthem, take a few minutes and visit the design genius of this memorial. The signs explain how the sun will hit just right to light up the medallion, etc. it’s very nice.

There is no charge. As noted earlier, there is a large crowd on Veteran's Day but you can still get a good view of the activities on the big screen. I got there late but was still able to get a good view. You will have to stand or sit on the grass if you aren't there very early.
