Myself and my family had a great visit to Duncannon Fort. The tour guide Susan was the highlight of the tour. She was witty, engaging and knowledgeable and made it a memorable visit to Duncannon for all the holiday makers on the tour. The tour operated safely outdoors in compliance with all Covid guidelines and social distancing.

We took a guided tour through Duncannon Fort in July 2020. Our tour guide Anne was fantastic - very knowledgeable and so friendly. The tour is mostly outdoors and it is easy to maintain social distancing measures. Suitable for both kids and adults, the tour takes about an hour and is very reasonably priced.

Had a great tour two days ago, just our family and the brilliant guide Susan. She really made the tour fun and interesting and really engaged with the kids who like ourselves hung onto her every word. Hopefully this facility gets more funding to make it into another Spike Island type tourist attraction.Great

Family of four experienced the tour of Duncannon fort on a rainy day in August. Chris the tour guide provided a wealth of information about this great attraction. Such an interesting history, well worth a visit.

We had a fantastic tour of Duncannon Fort given by our wonderful tour guide Susan who was so friendly and incredibly knowledgeable
building steeped in history spanning centuries. A unique Irish historical treasure. An experience not to be missed. Such a shame that more funding is not being directed to this essential piece of local and national heritage. 5 star review without a doubt!!!

We had a great tour of this hugely impressive bastion fort which clings like a watchful eagle onto a promontory of Hook peninsula.
Chris, our guide, was professional, helpful, friendly and had that most important element required of all really good guides - a sense of humour.
He also has a very impressive command of the history and knowledge of the site which he generously shared with us.
A visit I would highly recommend to anyone.

We were very impressed with our tour of Duncannon Fort last weekend. We called the tourist office as we had a free day in Wexford, and we were unsure what activities were available due to Covid-19, but we spoke to Gearoid on the phone who suggested we take a tour of the fort in Duncannon. The weather was dull but it did not impact on the tour at all which contained a mixture of indoor and outdoor exhibitions. Our tour guide, Ann had a wealth of knowledge on the history of the fort, which was great to see. Where archaeologists had recently visited the fort and given their insights on different discoveries within the fort, she could provide these updates to us too. It was very interesting to see which parts of the fort were original to the fort when it was first built and also how different additions were added depending on its subsequent inhabitants. We would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Duncannon, we would definitely come back again!

My Husband and two children aged 6 and 3 did this tour and we all really enjoyed it. The tour itself lasted just under an hour. Our guides Anne and Chris were both excellent so interested in the fort and its history and so knowledgeable. They were especially good with my 6 year old who had a serious amount of questions and they were patient and very kind in their responses. My daughter is still talking about the tour and the fort 3 days later. I would recommend this tour if in the area most enjoyable.

Did the guided tour. Was a nice tour at a reasonable price. Small kids wont be overly interested. People with limited mobility or people with buggies it won't be suitable for. We did this tour after hook lighthouse it was very close to hook head.

We visited the fort for the first time this morning and it was very good, our tour guide was Susan and she was very informative and witty and we enjoyed the tour of the forth, never heard of this place. Seeing as we were passing through the area we stopped by and took the tour in. There is also a lovely beach that you can enjoy a nice stroll of when you finish the tour, well worth a look around, the tourist information office is suited on the right going up to the forts main gates and you can get information about things to do in the area as well. Enjoy your tour 👍😀

Thank you for getting back to me. Unfortunately I'm back home now - I'll need to wait for my next visit to the sunny south east! Every good wish for the remainder of the season.

Great tour , excellent guide, why no concession for seniors , must be one of a few attractions that do not have a concession for seniors.

Hi, sorry for the delay in responding (something went wrong with my notificaitons). As it's a 16 Century building parts are not accessible. For visitors with mobility issues we bring them and their group up separately from the main tour, show them what we can and then let the group decide how much of the €5 charge per adult they would like to pay. We are just open for tours until the 28th August daily, the Fort will then close for the winter. Many thanks, Mary.
