We were stopping at the Invisa Esero hotel in Es Cana. Which was excellent by the way. However we do like to explore the local area by foot. We walked along to the beautiful Cala Nova beach, which is about a 15 minute walk from Es Cana. Our children don't mind a,walk. This is a lovely beach too. However there is a sign right at the end of Cala Nova beach, which directs you up a road.., approximately another 1k.a bit dusty...past some woods, then down some steep steps, through a woodland, down onto this totally beautiful beach. It is set in a cove. The water is pretty shallow so you can walk out for a while. My children are 9 and 13. The water was so clear, if you stand still bear the rocks the fishes swim right around your feet and ankles. The beach cafe is reasonable for cold and hot food and drinks. Free toilets up a stairway. These were clean. . This was our favourite beach, so we did do the walk a few times during our stay at Es Cana.

This is really a find! The approach to the beautiful beach is fringed with pine woods, parking may get a bit hairy during high season, I guess, but in early May no problem, so quiet and peaceful. There is one little shack serving drinks and food right on the beach, I think it has a very good reputation though we did not try it this time. I don’t think this place will ever get really crowded, and we would definitely go back.

This beach has the right combo of beach size, free parking, rental beds, not commercial, good Kiosco. So looking for a real beach with some old fashioned fun, food, drinks and a water bicycle you're in the right place. After 7 in the evening eating on the beach next the Kiosco is a must as the whole family is serving a good sea-bass, dorade or salmon. Nothing fancy but for a good price. The olives, aioli with toasted bread is served by grandmother, always fun.

Fantastic beach, great parking, extremely clean and excellent inexpensive beach bar!
We found this beach completely by accident but went back on a further 3 occasions.
The beach is quite big and busy mostly frequented by German and Spanish visitors, but we always felt welcome (a German guy even told me to watch out for a jellyfish which I hadn't noticed)
We being English loved the hippie relaxed feel, there were a lot of camper vans in the large free car park.
There is a beach bar offering food and on the 3 occasions we visited we had 2 pizzas and drinks all for under €20 (something unheard of in the beaches frequented by most British tourists)
A visit to Cala Lena is a must
