Sensational views from atop and impressive to look at from below. Surrounded by forest and unspoilt beaches, and looking out over the Atlantic rollers. Superb...and superbly photogenic.

Holidays in 2016 and 2017 in nearby Bonne Anse Plage. Saw this most days but only took the time to go for a proper visit on my last trip. simple information office, wonderful books and souvenirs, reasonably priced. View from the tower worth the long...More

We walked around the lighthouse and visited the on-site museum and shop, as well as the charity shop next door. As we hadn't planned to visit, we didn't have time (nor the inclination on a hot day!) to climb to the top of the lighthouse.

With its 300 flight-steps high this lighthouse has its top reached quicker than one wait to be able to access it. Up high, the view over the ocean, beaches and pine forest is beautiful but a little monotonous. Entrance fees are cheap, around 3€

We visited for the day and had to climb the stairs in this wonderful old lighthouse. The entry was cheap and the stairs (302 ish) climbable - although I could feel my calf's afterwards. There's a well presented museum detailing the lighting equipment which is...More

We stopped for a few nights at the Yelloh Village holiday village and can highly recommend it and this unspoilt area of western France. Beach is wide, long and empty. Great for all of the family. The phare de la coubre car park is full...More

The day we visited the lighthouse was closed, which was a shame. The walk around the outside was just as enlightening especially from the beach - you would think it had grown out of the sand! Excellent walk along the sandy beach or among the...More
