We went to La Casa de las Piedritas after a menu del dia in Envigado. We walked across town about 25 minutes from where we were and it was not a problem. The house is actually not very far from the Principle Park of Envigado. This was a very interesting stone house that the owner has been building for 37 years. He and his wife greeted the visitors very warmly and gave the tour of their private home. They even offered candy and coffee at the end. You can tip at the end if you like, but there is not push for it.

I found this house on Trip Advisor and wasn't exactly sure what I would find. But my partner and I were not disappointed at all! Gloria is an amazing host. Even though I hardly understood a word of Spanish, her charm and passion for what she and her husband have created is absolutely wonderful. It's taken 35 years to build what they have built and they did it ALL by hand. Go see it. Just do it.

What a unique find to visit this magical home. Gloria is wonderful host & even though we don’t speak Spanish we were still able to manage to understand the majority of the love story of the home built by hand by Santiago for his family. It’s so imaginative & inviting with surprises at every turn. We are oranges off the tree inside the home & were served coke & cookies at the end of the tour. This is definitely off the beaten path but well worth the visit! We did recommend they have their story translated for non-Spanish speaking visitors to follow along & not waste the time of other visitors with all of our questions. 😁

The owner started building this house 35 years ago. He had a dream since he was a child and it came to fruition. All built by him with spare and scrap materials. Wonderful, humble people who allow you to visit their home and be part of their world. God bless them. Three story home built For him and his two daughters, and added rooms to accommodate his grandkids when they visit. Must see. The fee charged is what you value in the experience.
