I will rate this beach excellent because on a perfect day that is what it is. When there is not much wind this beach is like paradise. Beautiful sand and beautiful waters and not many people at it, almost none. The bad thing is that it can be windy at Sal and the waters can be quite wavy. If you're around you should go check it out. If you're lucky it will be a calm day and you can just jump in and enjoy! The beach is a short walk from several resorts, like the Melia hotels and Tortuga. Takes about 15min to walk there from the hotels. There is also a little restaurant up on the beach which sells foos and drinks. They also have a toilet.

My eldest daughter wanted to walk from Ponta Preta to Santa Maria. It was some trek - took the best part of 3 hours. But, having the sea almost continually washing your feet feels great.
The restaurant there does tasty thin crust pizza, made in true Italian style. I strongly recommend a visit - booking not necessary in late April.

The best beach in Sal away from busy santa maria. The sea can get choppy at times as evidence by the kite surfers etc here but they make for good viewing. The beach and sea are very beautiful and there's a couple of restaurants for lunch. If you get here early enough then grab one of the rock shelters on the beach. Don't choose sun loungers by the café as you're just crammed together with other sun worshippers like sardines. We went here twice last week and really enjoyed it.

Ponta Preta beach is absolutely beautiful, there is a lovely beach bar / restaurant there, and you can sit and watch the kite surfers and just chill on a pristine beach away from the crowds.

A long, breezy beach walk from Santa Maria brings you to this bar, an oasis. A cool beer sipped in front of sparkling waters beating the golden sand relaxes every muscle. Watching guys kite surfing is surprising mesmerizing and also very relaxing, that said from the beach bar seat. The food menu is short however there is something for everyone. Recommended is the tasty and refreshing wahoo carpachio. This is definitely a No Stress bar.

The beach and view is stunning. May this last long and does not have hotels built here making inaccessible to the public. If you visit Sal this is one place you have to spend some time.

Lovely beach with amazing colours at sunset. The nearby dune offers a spectacular view on the coast and the waves. For a safe swim, favour Santa Maria beach - less current and waves.

The beach is the best I'm yet to see. Better then the beaches in Thailand and they were amazing! Really quiet and the restaurant there on a night is stunning. Star gazing a must!

Amazing sunset even though it was a cloudy day!!
As we arrived at the bar we automatically got a strange vibe from the staff didn’t seem very friendly, we had 3 drinks each watched the sunset!
We got a taxi on the way and the taxi driver said he would come back for us at 7pm as we stood to go to wait for him the bar lady came running out shouting no no no that’s not yours as she had booked one for another family I tried to explain we had ordered a taxi but she wouldn’t have any of it pointing her finger at us running to the taxis even though 2 taxis pulled up at the same time!
Unfortunately due to her poor attitude I would kot re visit
