A lovely and interesting little Museum, the staff very friendly and helpful. What made the day for a couple on our outing was they lived in a little cottage near where we were. There was a barn door as well and the gentleman who lived near had his signature on this door. The ladies in the museum also had a... More

This was our second visit to the Tourist Info at Bellingham - this time we paid £4 each to go into the Heritage Centre and we were very impressed. For a small village/town (about 1000 inhabitants) the scope and scale of the exhibits are impressive. PCs with a database of surnames etc for genealogical research, a PC with searchable images... After lunch at Carriages - which was just the ticket - we called in the neighbouring Heritage Centre. There is a shop selling touristy gifts, maps etc and we also paid to see the history exhibition. My youngest was fascinated by the old engines and train memorabilia, as well as the old tractor. Artefacts from the village's past have been... More

Went here on a quiet Sunday afternoon not expecting too much but what a surprise we got. The centre is packed with information on the area but it's also is a snapshot of times gone by. There was a local chap who told us lots of fascinating information. A total eye opener and we highly recommend this place.

We visited the carriages tea rooms on this site. The food is all homemade on site so there is sometimes a wait, but well worth waiting for. We had soup and sandwiches and either or would have been sufficient. Good value and well worth the visit.

We called here for directions to Redesmouth as the signs are a bit confusing. The ladies were able to give us clear directions.
