Beautiful forest, lots of expanse of space. Gets really busy at the weekend and I avoid on bank holidays. But lovely Gruffalo walk and really nice cafe. But the cafe is just not big enough for the sheer volume of visitors. Another small cafe the other side of the forest would be good and I think the place needs bins... More

We come here a least 4 times a year.. its a reliable choice for a nice walk with the kids, not sure if winter is better than summer to visit..but what is for certain is that this seem to be the default choice for people with miniature dogs. its not a criticism its actually fascinating, the kids love it.. just... Great for all the family. Children love the freedom of running around with no fear of cars. Cylists seem to be well behaved when pedestrians in same space. Dogs have wonderful time sniffing at everything the find. So large you get the feeling of aloneness although you know there are people around. Great

This place is gorgeous! We walked our lab for over 3 hours around this place, I don't know who enjoyed it more! There were quite a few huge trees that had been felled by Dorris a couple of days before... This made the more challenging but more fun in the same way! Climbing over hundred year old trees took us... More

I will start with my only complaint about the place, the car parking charges are far too high. But that is my only complaint. There are a number of trails and walking routes designed for all ages with a myriad of buggy friendly footpaths criss-crossing all over the forest. The hills, woodland and meres make for a number of pleasant... More

We stayed at Delamere Forest for the first time not long ago.The setting was beautiful, toilets were exceptionally clean,as well as the showers (with a request to mop after use) no dirt or bugs in sight, The dish washing room is as clean as the toilets (perfect). There is a no noise after 10 pm policy so a tranquil night sleep is... Me and my husband took our dog here and we loved it as there are lots of different paths and you can spend hours in there, there is a lack of signs as we were unsure where we were and what path we were on and we also ended up carrying our dogs poo bags round the whole time as... More

It's been a long time since I was last in Delamere but this trip brought all the fond memories flooding back. Excellent scenery and paths to follow or go off track through the woodlands exploring the many ponds and passes. Only downside was the parking, only takes coins of which I had none, I risked it by doing without but... More

We killed a few hours walking along the trails. Parking was easy enough, although this was mid-winter. There's some nice spots for a roast around abouts too.

So many walks, cycle tracks, horse tracks to negate, a lovely day out in the open countryside no matter what the weather is doing. Great paths and a good visitor centre with cafe.
