More than first meets the eye here with a large selection of commercial aircraft, fighters, and helicopters attractively displayed. Outdoor collection is very impressive. Definitely not a real Concorde, so what is it? Majority of information is in German but all the measurements, speeds etc. are easy to understand. For British aviation enthusiasts there are a number of recognizable planes, and many with Rolls Royce engines, along with two or three Westland helicopters. We enjoyed viewing the inside of a couple of the commercial airliners from the 50s and 60s. Pleasant place to spend a few hours.

Large private collection off various types of aircraft, with an emphasis on Eastern-European stuff, including rare MiG fighters and Russian helicopters. Well laid out, kid friendly.

Super private owned large aviation museum. Very friendly people and a large amount of interesting aircrafts and helicopters. Enjoyed the day with the entire family. Loved the ejection seat display. Wonderfull settings ( Concorde ) for a nice cup of coffee and some cake ! we surely will come back to this museum next year !

I was on a bit of a pilgrimage to aviation museums and I'd say that Hermeskeil's is definitely beaten by the one in Sinsheim. However, it does have a big outdoor exhibit of European and Russian aircraft types that I haven't seen much (as an Australian) - but unfortunately only a few could be entered or even looked into the cockpit. The interior exhibits are smaller but have a number of interesting collections of parts, most notably the great collection of engines from pistons to the jet age. They also have collections of helmets, control panels (including a V-1?!) and ejector seats. The cafe inside the Concorde is a novelty but not really a great idea given the cramped area and small windows, and they only had a few cheap menu items and there were no staff inside the cafe anyway. Still, for aviation enthusiasts, it's definitely worth visiting here.

First of all you are unlikely to come across this aircraft display by mistake. It's located in the northwestern town of Hermeskiel near Luxembourg. Not only is there a fascinating display of aircraft outdoors but also just as fascinating display of aircraft inside complete with ejection seats and engines of all varieties. Plus as a bonus there is a cafe where you can enjoy a cappuccino inside the Concord aircraft! I've been to several aircraft displays but this is among the most unique.
