Great 21st century museum experience
Aug 2021
The renovation of the Castle has just been completed. Exciting exhibits, interactive elements, safe environment, clean toilets, cheap ticket. Can get very busy in the high season, arrive early. Unique view. Bonus: evening concerts at the Castle, quality food-court by the entrance.

Great experience with the family, there are plenty of installations, maps, heralds to look at besides the gorgeous view! If you are in the area it is a must do with kids!

Great views, but not very accesible

Great views of Balaton and interesting castle ruins if you can handle the steep trek up . We parked at the castle entrance (not the very bottom of the hill) and my son explored every turret and room in the place. Refreshments were available at the castle itself and at the car park/entrance area.

Walking in a mid age castle
Aug 2020 • Couples
Not so easy to find parking place. Queue was long enough at entrance. You can only pay for ticket by cash. Ticket price is ~3€. View is beautiful. Definitely worth to visit. Some room have a composition of the mid age life, eg.: kitchen, bedroom, smithy, stable. There is a little buffet inside. Good program for adults and children either.

Terrible !!! Dont even go there
Aug 2019
We spent an hour looking for free parking spot. Another hour to climb up the hill then at the cash we realized that they dont accept credit cards like in past century. We only lost time and got angry. Keep away from this horrible place !

Super

Very good choice to visit this ruined castle. Even out teens liked the visit. You can walk through for small money and enjoy many views on Balaton. Also you can enjoy the local effort using stage properties and sounds to show you how the castle looked like in medieval times. You can spend there about an hour. Be ready that during season there is lots of people. Best is to go there early in the morning.

Worth a visit

The ruins are well maintained. A bit of a steep walk up to the gate. There’s a komondo trail nearby which might be nice after the castle.

Terrific view

This place is definitely worth a detour. Do not expect a full-scale medieval castle. These are ruins, though well preserved and painfully reconstructed at places. There are convenient new steps and several viewing points with terrific 360 degree view. The entrance is only 5 euros.

Great view, huge crowd, no food
Aug 2018
We visited the castle in the summer, arrived at around noon and decided to have a snack at arrival; which was a mistake. We spent about 40 minutes queuing for highly over-priced sandwiches.
However, the views are fantastic, and it is a great adventure, but do not go hungry and thirsty.
