Montenegro coffee park:

The Montenegro coffee park is an amazing adventure and a pleasant place to visit with your family and friends. Every ride is a very exciting and funny experience. When we arrived, we felt anxious about knowing that wonderful place, so we got closer to the booth to buy our tickets. The person who gave us attention was kind and friendly, although the tickets were very expensive, we didn’t mind. After we got inside the park, we lined up to board the cableway, the heat was hot, and the line was very large. Later, we went to a restaurant in the main square, before visiting the attractions. The waitress was charismatic and gregarious, moreover the restaurant had a delicious spicy roast smell. There was a relaxing background music and the place was adorned with magnificent tulips. When our ordered dishes arrived, we noticed they looked very palatable and tasteful, and the taste agreed with their wonderful aspect. Once we finished our lunch time, we went to the desired roller coasters. The first we visited was the blue roller coaster, we felt nervous and impatient. We enjoyed the experience and we felt anxious about knowing the other rides. Our next attraction was the Cyclone, we felt very dizzy when the ride started to work. Generally, we mixed a lot of new sensations, as happiness, fright and adrenaline. At night, we went out from the park and we were tired enough as for getting home. However, it was a sensational day, full of fun, joy and the best thing is that we were able to live together this magnificent experience that we would repeat again.

The park has been upgraded significantly since our last visit a few years ago. The museum, in particular, is now extremely well presented, with some good interactive features.
A highlight of our visit was the folkloric show, which is excellent. The dances, music and costumes are great, although the seating is not comfortable.

The big drawback is the show`s location. It is a steep approach from whichever direction. It was hot on the day of our visit and many visitors were clearly extremely uncomfortable. It would have been much better to site this attraction on flat ground, and near to the entrance. If that were not possible, at least locate it near the cable car or train, or provide an advertised bus service.

We had sent an e-mail before our visit, asking for the show`s start time, but did not receive a reply. This is very disappointing and frankly not good enough!

El Parque Nacional del Café has a 40 mechanical, aquatic and themed attractions.
It is located in the village of Pueblo Tapao, in the municipality of Montenegro in Quindío, Colombia.

It has two cable cars, shows, a garden, roller coasters, coffee based food stalls and Colombian folk architecture.
The visitors can see six graves of Quimbaya culture, peasant houses, threshers, grinders, toasters and other machines, additionally it has attractions for all ages, between these is one of the largest roller coasters in Latin America with 1050 meters length and is one of the most striking.

The park has these places:

Montaña Rusa
Montaña Acuática
Karts Sencillos
Museo del Café
Show del café
El Secreto de la Naturaleza
Paseo a Caballo
Teleférico Plaza
Teleférico Bambusario
Tren del Café
Barco del Café
Karts Dobles
Botes Chocones
Rin Rin
Carros Chocones
Rueda Panorámica
Barón Rojo
Carrusel Cafeteritos
Río Lento
Carrusel mundo de los niños
Mini Chocones

All these attractions are of vertigo, cultural, family and child, it has different tourist places that promote cafetera culture. This park is really famous, fun and quiet, it’s also very noisy with loud sounds of music, attractions and people. It’s ideal for spending time with the family, you can breathe and smell fresh and pleasant air to place, you can observe the colorful and mountainous landscape.
The workers give you good service in restaurants, where you find rich tastes like sweet, sour, salty and BBQ.
Our experience was pleasant, we recommend that you visit El Parque Nacional del Café for an exciting day.

Montar en todo llevar un gorro por el sol y comprar un impermeable por los barcos chocones, los montana rusas que son con agua, te mojas completamente. Todo muy chevere.
Go on everything especially the rollercoasters so much fun!! Wear a hat, lots of walking, buy a rain poncho by the water rides, the bumper boats, the coasters that splash will soak you completely.

Our expectations were low and we were pleasantly surprised. Sure, covid had kept crowds down and we didn’t wait for any rides but we were charmed by this little place (think Wickstead park Brits). A couple of cool roller coasters and some other fun attractions. Good for people watching. Bring a waterproof for the water rides..... My only moan, not enough places to get a coffee (oh the irony).

Park of Coffe is considered one of the most important theme parks in Latin America, with a mixture of emotions and feelings for the whole family.
One of the favorite attractions and with more adrenaline is the Krater. Because it is an impressive roller coaster, with 360 and 180 degree turns, with a 30 meter drop and a magical panorama.
Come to the museum and get to know the culture of Coffe and biodiversity in a fun way. Touring the 4 rooms that will take you to a fascinating experience of the Coffe process also enjoy the fresh aroma and bitter taste until its export.
Finally take a break and enjoy creamy ice cream and soft drinks. The ice cream shops are located in different points of the park and you will find a variety of flavors like:sweet, sour and bitter.
In summary the Coffe Park is an amazing place for your vacation, come and live an experience with your family or friends, with tours and attractions for all ages.

It's a fine theme park to spend a day with family. It has few rides, many restaurants throughout the park and coffee plantation. You can also have a nice view of the park from Mirador venue.

It's worth for money and a day trip with family.

While I think Parque del Cafe is a beautiful park and have enjoyed it many times, I’m afraid after my last visit, I’ll no longer be able to visit because my daughter was met with incredible discrimination. My daughter, who has Down syndrome, was offered a free VIP ticket. In theory this was nice, but then we were shown a list of the rides that someone with a “cognitive disability” could ride. I asked how they knew she had a cognitive disability, and of course, they couldn’t answer. I told them she could do anything physically that any other 6 year old could do, so I would just buy a normal ticket. The person then told me that even if I bought her a normal ticket, the ride operators would stop her from riding certain rides. If we hadn’t already paid a driver quite a bit of money to drive us from Pereira, we would have left right then. This discrimination is parallel to telling a black person he can’t ride certain rides. She was judged by her physical appearance. In 2018, this just cannot happen. Parque del Cafe, if you want to continue to welcome international visitors, these policies have got to change. You cannot decide what rides a child can’t ride if he/she meets the height requirement. I truly hope that this message will be received and that changes will be made.

Parque Nacional del Cafe was a worthwhile adventure..hard to find a good room after sundown but we did manage to find a family that was runnning a family style hotel in montenegro..nice 2 bedorom place with limited tv and cold showers(typical) but it was only $15 per person ,breakfast inclusive ( huevos perico ,arepa, fresh jugo de lulo, and coffe or hot chocolate; it was very good) .. it was close to the park and they even offered to let us leave our car there to avoid the parking charge(7mil pesos i think) .. anyway the park was beautiful and well maintained and all the staff were very pleasant and most spoke at least some english.. the 2 kids got the all pass bracelet while me and the wife opted for the value pass whiue let us see the "Show" which is a traditional costume , song and dance routine..very nice, all abut coffe of course.. there are many hiliking trails ..i especially like the one through the bamboo forest.. lots of flowers and well maincured gardens.. keep in mind if you are going here ,this is a theme park with a few rides and not an amusement park first ! also, keep in mind this on the side of a mountain and a lot of the trails are vertical. so you need to able to go up and down moderte distances at altitude.however, it was enjoyable. a couple of things: with exchange rate the way it is and the economy there, dont expect to find many good deals; naywhere in colombia for that matter..expect to pay what you would here. I just got back so i am telling you straight ..also if you are driving there from , say cali, take an extra $50 for tolls.....just in case..gasoline is >$5 a galllon..there are tolls approximately every 30 minutes and some more than 9mil pesos.($4-5). in all , just for the park and transportation not included , it cost us about $120 for the day; for 2 kids with all inclusive passes and 3 adults with the value pass and lunches. if you are in Colombia it is must see and its about 1.5 hours from the Termales at Santa Rosa de Cabal another must see. start ealry! it opens at 9 there ..

This is not the best that Colombia has to offer. If you have ever been to Disney World or Six Flags in the US, this park is going to be a huge disappointment. I took the family of 16 to the park. I didn't expect much. But what I encountered was even worse. We had two hour waits to get on each ride. These are not great rides either. We waited two hours to get on the bumper boats, which was in a pond. When we finally made it close to the boats, some of my family remarked about the smell. I figured it was stale water. When we got into the boats and water got on me from the fountain in the middle of the pond, it started burning my eyes. Yes, not sure what it was, but that is not something that you want to repeat.

In short, the park was the worst decision i made. It was a bad experience, but my family was great. There are plenty of better things to do in Colombia then waste your money and time at parque del cafe.
