A heartwarming and sad visit
Oct 2021 • Family
It’s sad that the bears had been mistreated formally but heartwarming to know they are now able to live as good a life as possible. Our guide Mary was very knowledgeable but also clearly cares deeply about the bears. We saw many bears of different ages and they seemed happy and playful. The tour involves walking around the edges of the sanctuary where many of the bears are eager to be near people.

Great place, doing great work.

I was struck by the stories of what the bears had gone through before being set "free" in the sanctuary. Surely worth a visit and by doing so, you support a great initiative as well. Very interesting touching place.

Fantastic place all round with friendly and informative tour guides. Quite distressing to hear of the awful lives the bears have been rescued from

Amazing

It’s a place where you cry, it’s a place where you smile, it’s a place where you get to love the bears more and more. The people there are absolutely amazing, what they have done there is exceptional. You may also adopt a bear.

Place worth seeing
Aug 2021 • Family
I would rather see bears here than in a zoo. each bear story is tragic. What these people managed to do is impressive. I don't think these animals can be better taken care of. It's not a larger zoo. It's not the wild either. These animals were rescued, they would not survive in the wild...so they don't need more space. They're not shy either... being used to humans. They don't look bothered by visitors. I guess the only reason why this place can be visited is to raise money to expand and shelter even more animals. You have a guided tour that tells the whole story. Visiting hours are so short.. now i understand why.

A nice thing to do on the way to Bran castle

A bear sanctuary with 112 bears. There are 3 tours a day whereas one is in English.
The tour consists of Watching a movie for 15 min and 1 hour walk around the sanctuary around feeding times.

Disappointing
May 2021 • Family
The place is a great initiative but managed in a wrong way. If you consider it a touristic attraction you have to be aware they are a bit too tight for what this should be. I got the feeling that all they want only very disciplined people marching orderly next to the fences admiring the bears and staying in awe to the work done. If you add an inexperienced guide who’s not engaging children and they got bored by the stiffness, will get a sense. Flexibility and empathy should dominate a heartwarming project. And yes, you can see bears, even adorable bear cubs.

Life changing experience for me!
Sep 2020
I cannot recommend this Sanctuary enough! I have never seen such love and care for animals in all of the sanctuaries and various animal attractions I have ever visited. As stated previously they are not a zoo. The welfare of the animals is held the upmost of importance to all the staff who work there hence the short visiting times so not to disrupt the bears peace and quiet. I was so impacted and overwhelmed by this Sanctuary that I have since been campaigning to support them. Visiting Libearty is an experience you will never forget and hearing the stories of what these bears have had to overcome after suffering at the hands of some greedy people. Please support this Sanctuary by visiting them and spread the word of their amazing work.

Amazing place

It was a wonderful and an emotional experience for me and my family. Every bear has a story, unfortunatly sad stories, but now they have a chance to a better life, there in the woods. They arrived home! It's a place who worth visiting.
