I booked this trip after I'd read the reviews so I had an idea of what to expect! I just wanted to see Santorini but didn't really like the idea of staying there overnight so thought this would be perfect. The boat left on time at 8am, and arrived in Santorini at about 10.45am.. I wasn't prepared for the mayhem that is Santorini New Port - there were 5 cruise ships in so it was chaos!! They split us in to groups of languages spoken so we could get the right bus and understand the guide - I'd read the reviews from the previous week, and as the English speaking bus wasn't there we decided along with 10 others that we didn't want to wait so we got on the Italian bus. Our guide was great and he translated everything into English for us. We got to Oia our first stop - again complete chaos because of the cruise ships!! Oia was beautiful although so busy, so I think we could have done with longer there. Fira was next where we had to spend over 3 hours! We saw the sights (briefly) and then found a pool bar to spend the afternoon - much too touristy for us and we hated the town! We were picked up at 5pm and finally left the port at around 5.45pm.. The boat crew were friendly and helpful, the boat was good, our tour guide was fab, it was just Santorini that let us down! Beautiful yes, but far too touristy and commercialised, I've never seen so many people in one place - it was awful!

Boat was way too overcrowded!!! Sitting was difficult and uncomfortable and made the 5 hours of sailing very difficult. It didn't feel like it worth the money we paid.

The food was 2 souvlaki skewers and salad that you can get from abywhre for €5. I wouldn't recommend it.

We (my boyfriend and I) went one day to Mykonos and one day to Santorini both time with the boat named Alexander.

Mykonos costed €45 and Santorini €65 (as I recall.

I think we were very lucky with the weather because I only noticed a bit of waves on the way back from Mykonos but I think it depends a lot on your own stomach whether you like these kind of trips - have in mind both it’s not a small river you’re crossing here...

The best thing about the Santorini trip was Thea (the bus guide)! As an old tour guide myself I have to say she was one of the best I’ve seen in actions for many years.
SO well informed, SO patient and SO great attitude.

Anyway... The boat Alexander did it’s job and so did the staff.
You can sit inside or outside - if you insist staying outside and the boat is rocking a bit, stay in the middle.

I bought a trip Naxos - Mykonos for July 4, 2022. All good until I left the port by boat Alexander. They went at a very high speed and shook us on the waves, and my wife and I were very sick and we had to go down to the port of Naoussa. When I returned to Naxos, I thought it would be different, from where they started jumping on the waves again until someone's attention was drawn to them and they stopped. (the staff sat one by one and looked at us if we fainted or we were sick). I paid something I didn't benefit from, you made fun of the trip. It was the last time I went on a trip to Greece.

Tour boat (or large catamaran) Alexander anchored in Naxos and makes daily trips to Santorini - Ios - Paros - Naxos and Paros - Delos - Mykonos - Naxos on a rotating schedule. Leave in the morning, come back in the evening. We travelled with this catamaran several times in both calm and windy weather. There are indoor seating area, outdoor seats on the sundeck both with an without shade, and a small cafe, as well as toilets. Comfortable and fast. Recommended for one day trips.

Had a great day sailing from Naxos main port to Delos and Mykonos with Cycladic Cruises aboard the Alexander, a big ship that easily navigated the sea. We left Naxos at 9 and we were back at 7 for an incredible sunset.

There's plenty of room inside and on deck, over two levels. Some seats covered, others open.

The smoking section seemed to be up front, on top, as there was less wind there. Note: the ship has small square dirt "ashtrays" scattered around, you might have to look for them.
Lower level has lots of seating and a cafe with drinks and snacks. Plenty of luggage racks too, if needed.

The captain and crew were very professional, in that cool Greek way. They wee very clear on when we had to be back at the ship to sail for the next stop. After a quick stop in Paros, we went to Delos and had three hours there (Lion Terrace and amazing ancient history) and then three hours or so on Mykonos.

I counted six cruise ships in the Mykonos harbor today. Six! Very crowded on the beautiful waterfront lined with shops and restaurants, including tasty Captain's! Yum.

Thanks to the Alexander captain and crew and friendly, efficient Panos in the Alexander front office who sold me my ticket (50€) and happily gave me some pro tips for my trip. Epharisto!

The organisation was a disaster ! We had to wait 45 min at the port for the bus. The tour guide was irrevelant and abandoned us at Fira in Santorini.
We were told to be at 4pm at the parking to take to bus to return to the boat and it arrived 1h later. When we called to have information I was called a liar and the receptionist hang up on me without any reason. This is how they treat their customers and this is inadmissible !

I will not recommend at all!!!

Used these yesterday for a day tour to Santorini. Never had such a ridiculous experience with a tour operator. Began badly with an unnecessarily early start after the ticket office told us to meet 20mins earlier than required. Then the bus picking us up was later again on top of that. Boat journey was fine if a little basic (loos grotty). Got to Santorini port and there was absolute chaos. The buses were organised by language of tourist guide - but no one told us that and there was no way to know which bus has which language. After ten minutes of lots of milling around and confusion of approx 200 people, it transpired there weren't enough buses anyway. We were stuck with over 50 other people on the port side with no shade and we just kept being told, "Look up the hill for the bus you will see it in 15mins". Let me tell you there are lots of buses coming to the port all the time. Totally ridiculous. It was 30degs and the boat was still docked so we asked if we could return onboard to wait in the shade with seats. Absolutely not. The captain jumped back on board and drew up the bridge leaving us stood for 40mins baking with no shade. When we got on the phone to the company, they told us we were lying as the captain was still on the dockside with us. We took pictures to send them to prove he wasn't, but they didn't care. Anyway, the bus finally arrived and we had a late start which meant we got very little time in one of the two locations. Some people had to stand on the coach the whole tour. The tour guide was entertaining, particularly about the traffic on the island. At the last stop Fera, we were told to return to the coach stop at 4pm and there would be a different coach waiting for us. Surprise, surprise, no coach. We waited for fifteen minutes with more and more people waiting with us - more than one coach load. When we rang to ask what was going on for the third time that day, first they tried to tell us we were wrong about the time and the buses had gone. Then they told us the coach wasn't due yet and we'd got the wrong time the other way. Finally they told us the bus had broken down (same excuse as morning) and that it would be there in 45mins. From the little things that had been said in the day, I think they knew there was a problem as the bus we were on was never coming back to us and they had only booked two coaches for the pick up that took the first coach loads and then came back. But instead of telling us the truth and asking us to meet at a later time, they made us stand in a coach park for over an hour. We did eventually get back to Paros, very hot and very grumpy and deeply unhappy at how we had been treated and lied to throughout the day. I cannot recommend these tour operators, I have genuinely never experienced worse.

We decided to do the 1 day cruise from Paros to Santorini as a quick way to visit the Island. The Alexander ferry is basic, but has a small kiosk for coffee and food. Once at Santorini, people are put onto buses based on language (English, French, Italian, German etc) and shown around the major tourist areas of the island. On the day we visited, there were 5 large cruise liners in port, so there were more tourists than locals walking in the alleyways. Parking was also crazy, with buses and cars everywhere. We ended up finding am out of the way restaurant just to get away from the crowds.
The island villages are beautiful, however the ambiance is destroyed by the number of people trying to walk through the alleys. On returning back to the ferry, a number of the buses had filled and left, with guests not sure if more buses were coming. This resulted in people piling onto one bus, and an argument breaking out with the driver who refused to leave as people were standing in the isle. My wife and I gave up our seats after an irate Italian man threatened several guests, including myself (threatened to punch my head in) unless we did not give up our seats to his family. We got off and straight onto an empty tour bus just behind.
Finally get back onto the ferry to go home and we are half way out the harbour, before returning back to the port to pick someone else up. Complete chaos. To top it off, one of the crew in the front cabin was smoking cigars on the way home, with smoke drifting through the ferry.

A waste of money. The guide is incompetent and repeats the same mistakes in every town, so there is NO tour. They should refund the money that was not for the boat ride.
This is a waste of time and money.
