Old Deer Park is not Richmond Park
Jun 2020 • Solo
The Old Deer Park is NOT THE SAME as Richmond Park!! The fact that Richmond Park has deer in it doesn't make it Old Deer Park which is next to Kew Gardens!

Old Deer Park

Was here while visiting Kew Gardens. Nice to see wild deer roaming about. Wish I could just live free as the deer. Sadly, it just started to rain (that's UK for you) and it just wasn't pleasant to stick around to take photos.

Family day out
Feb 2019 • Family
A fantastic place to trek with the family & dogs if the weather is dry.
Loads of deer roaming around, so do take care.
Also a great place to cycle round.

Wonderful open space

The park changes with the seasons and it is such a pleasure to have a space with Deer roaming free. Dogs are welcome off lead and there are pathways and you are also free to wander off path. Holly Lodge and Isabella Plantation are highlights.

Lovely little park

Fantastic place for a picnic or run, whatever you decide to do, it's always good. They are having lots of different activities throughout the year, rugby, runs, football.. Although you might be disturbed by landing planes (it is on LHR landing path) it is still a nice green place, just on the river Thames.

Open space by the river

The photo is misleading, as there are no deer at the Old Deer Park - you have to go to Richmond Park nearby. What you DO have is an extensive green space fronting onto the Thames, with games pitches and decent grass. I've never seen it crowded.

up close with the deer
Jan 2017
I had been very close with the deer while I was feeding them but it was at the zoo. This is kind of interesting encounter with the deer. It was a great experience but became not so great as one of the dog escape from the leach and chase the deer. Police arrived soon and talk to the old man who is the owner of the dog. The dog was not trying to bite the deer but the deers were scared. I would visit again If I happen to visit Uk again.

Wide space and not too much people - great for outdoor fun with kids
Sep 2017 • Couples
We love Old Deer Park and are there, whenever we can. Just for a walk, or for Picnics, any outdoor plays ect. It is a lot of space and not many people go there, as you do not have any pubs or restaurants near by. But it is close to the river - lovely if you love it quiet.

A Big Park A Short Walk From Richmond
Jul 2017 • Couples
Firstly as other reviewers have mentioned DO NOT confuse this park with Richmond Park
It is a large open space along the Thames Riverside about a 15/20 minute walk towards Richmond Bridge.
Perfect space for walking your dog or a family picnic.
